Saboor Aly (born 3 March 1995) is a Pakistani actress who works in Urdu television. She began her acting career as the younger sister of actress Sajal Aly in the family drama Mehmoodabad Ki Malkain (2011). Aly rose to prominence after appearing in the comedy Mr. Shamim (2015). She continued to play supporting roles in several serials before making her film debut in the romantic comedy Actor in Law (2016), for which she was nominated for a Lux Style Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Since then, she has played lead roles in dramas such as Mere Khudaya (2018), Gul-o-Gulzar (2019), and Fitrat (2020).
Early Life and career
Saboor Aly was born on March 3, 1995, in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, to businessman Syed Ali and housewife Rahat, who died of cancer in March 2017. She has a younger brother, Ali Syed, and an older sister, Sajal Aly. Ali's father divorced her mother and married again. In an online interview, she stated that she was "angry" with her father at the time, but that she now has a "close bond with [him]." Ali and her family performed Umrah in 2017, just days before her mother died. Ali relocated to Karachi in 2011 to begin her professional career, but returned to Lahore in 2015.
Aly began her career with a small role in Choti Si Kahani, followed by a supporting role in the ARY Digital family drama Mehmoodabad Ki Malkain in 2011, in which she co-starred with her sister Sajal Aly. She then appeared in an episode of Kitni Girhain Baqi Hain, an anthology series on Hum TV, with her sister Sajal, and later in the acclaimed romantic drama Bunty I Love You, alongside Saba Qamar. She made her film debut in September 2016 with Nabeel Qureshi's socio-comedy film Actor in Law, starring Fahad Mustafa, Mehwish Hayat, and Om Puri. Her performance as Mustafa's supportive sister earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Lux Style Awards. Aly starred in the telefilm Nanu Aur Main (2018), which is about a grandfather-granddaughter relationship. The telefilm was well received by critics and the general public, and Aly was praised for her performance. Aly then appeared in the dramas Teri Meri Kahani and Visaal, the latter of which was one of the highest-rated Pakistani dramas of 2018.
Private Life
Saboor attended Rahim Yar Khan's Lahore Grammar School for her primary education. She was accepted to Punjab University in Lahore for further studies. On March 3, 1995, the young actress was born.
