The lead performer for the 2023 Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show has been chosen.
The mega-event is scheduled to take place on February 12 just outside of Phoenix, Arizona, during Super Bowl LVII, and Rihanna has agreed to perform.
The telecast will be produced by DPS alongside Roc Nation and Jesse Collins; both will act as executive producers, and Hamish Hamilton will serve as director. In addition, Roc Nation will serve as the live performance's strategic entertainment advisor.
"Rihanna is a generational talent, a somebody who has outperformed expectations at every turn despite coming from modest beginnings. a person who was raised on the tiny island of Barbados and went on to become one of history's most well-known artists. In a statement, Jay-Z claimed to be "self-made in both business and entertainment."
Seth Dudowsky, NFL Head of Music, added, "We are excited to welcome Rihanna to the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show stage. "Rihanna is an artist that comes along once in a generation and has influenced culture all of her life. We are excited to work with Apple Music, Roc Nation, and Rihanna to provide the fans another historically significant Halftime Show performance.
One of the largest musical events of the year, the Super Bowl Halftime Show frequently features guest appearances and performers who go all out for their performances. Additionally, in 2023, Apple Music will replace Pepsi, which had sponsored the programme for the previous ten years, as the event's presenting sponsor. Ahead of the big game, Apple has promised behind-the-scenes glimpses and additional goodies.
Oliver Schusser, Apple's vice president of Apple Music and Beats, said Rihanna is an amazing recording artist and a favourite of many millions of Apple Music subscribers worldwide. "What a great artist for the inaugural Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Spectacle," said Rihanna, "Roc Nation, and the NFL. We're thrilled to join with them to provide music and sports fans a significant show."
Over the ensuing months, further information about the impending programme, including sneak peeks, will be made available on Apple Music's various social media platforms.
Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent performed at SoFi Stadium for the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show. Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and The Weeknd are among more recent performances.
However, the halftime show has grown to be more than just a performance since musicians frequently use the occasion to promote tours or new albums, and because documentary cameras frequently record the setup and buildup to the main event. The NFL claims that more than 120 million people saw the 2022 Pepsi Halftime Show, demonstrating the platform's wide audience.
Roc Nation, which has worked with the NFL and Apple Music to produce the halftime show for the previous three seasons, is also coming back to aid with the live performance and production.
