Report on Rumor

March 11, 2022

The date WWE wanted Cody Rhodes on TV for was next week's (March 14) Raw in Jacksonville, Florida, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio. At WrestleMania 38, Cody is still desired. Time is running out and negotiations are still proceeding without a deal.
He wasn't on any previous Raw episodes, but they got him for Mania.
According to Meltzer, Bron Breakker may be immediately called up to the main roster in WWE. For the home performances this weekend, Breakker will be wrestling.
He remains in NXT.
Additionally, Gable Steveson will be swiftly promoted to the main roster. "The aim is for him to be another Brock Lesnar," Meltzer stated.
Reportedly, they lost interest in him. He hasn't exactly moved up the ladder anyplace.
Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline believes that Steve Austin only recently gave his full consent to work WrestleMania 38.
In the end, it succeeded.
Multiple sources confirmed to Mat Men's Andrew Zarian that Rick Steiner will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year but that his brother Scott will not. Sharmell will be a member of the Class of 2022, he recently learned.
Both Steiners were there. Sharmell also received an induction.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline, Steve Austin is upping the amount of cardio he does. There will be more involved in Stone Cold and Kevin Owens' forthcoming match at WrestleMania 38 than just a kick to the gut and a stunner.
A whole match was played. Nobody anticipated Stone Cold to not be in top form. He was in sufficient condition to carry out his duties.
For the WrestleMania 38 card, a source told WrestleVotes on Friday morning that they "anticipate up to 7 more matchups to be revealed" and that Seth Rollins is "the largest domino still to fall, for obvious reasons."
These are the most difficult rumours to verify because it's difficult to determine when matches were formally announced. However, if you looked back roughly two weeks, there were eight advertised matches. At the end, they had 16. So, there's that.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the United States championship match between Damian Priest and Finn Bálor will be added to the WrestleMania 38 schedule. A women's battle royal is also scheduled internally for the WrestleMania event, while Natalya and an unnamed partner will be added to the WWE women's tag title match.
Despite the fact that Priest was later identified as Edge's buddy, neither Bálor nor Priest had a match. For the women's tag team championship bout, Shayna Baszler and Nattie teamed up. There was no combat royal for ladies. When there are two nights of WrestleMania and someone like Finn couldn't go on either night, it must be difficult. (1/3)
Pete Dunne's "Butch" SmackDown debut is his formal call-up from NXT to the WWE main roster, according to Fightful. The matchup between the New Day and Sheamus, Butch, and Ridge Holland at WrestleMania 38 was scheduled before Big E fractured his neck.
Butch works for a living. I genuinely enjoyed how they portrayed him as the raging bruiser.
According to sources at AEW and WarnerMedia, a "person of influence" there blocked AEW from signing The Briscoes. The problem was several homophobic tweets from Jay Briscoe in 2013.
But they'll let Jay Lethal have his say anyway? I'm not saying they ought to have hauled them in for sure. But it seems like selective usage. Additionally, they discussed the Briscoes constantly.

Cody Rhodes is reportedly the subject of numerous offers from various professional wrestling organisations, according to Fightful Select. Evidently, only last week, an AEW EVP had the opinion that Cody was headed for the WWE and will face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38.
Seth and WWE were there. Who else might have provided something more alluring than WWE (assuming AEW was over), as I pondered last week? (2/2)
According to Ringside News, "Raw is the greatest mess it's ever been" at the moment.
Fair enough. As long as Vince was around, that seemed to be a perennial. Of course, he isn't anymore.
This past week, Friday Night SmackDown saw a number of modifications due to Vince McMahon's additional hands-on approach, according to PW Insider.
The destruction of scripts is probably not noticed by the writers. Even though there are still rewrites, the sound is now considerably more stable.
According to Fightful, Scorpio Sky's TNT title victory was anticipated as early as late 2021, and Cody Rhodes' departure had no impact on it.
The Scorpio TNT title run was not particularly noteworthy. And that's unfortunate because he has a lot of potential. I think he's hurt now and is out?
Additionally, they claim that Fallah Bahh's time with Impact Wrestling is over.
He hasn't engaged in much wrestling lately. I recently discovered that he is from New Jersey.

Your every day Cody Rhodes/WWE news: According to Wrestling Observer, as of last Friday, Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins was still on the internal WrestleMania schedule. According to Dave Meltzer, Cody is "probably still in but not a lock" as a result of what transpired on Raw last night.
Cody was there.
According to Wade Keller of PWTorch, "there doesn't seem to be any heat on" Ridge Holland for Big E's fractured neck. After the event, Holland "managed himself nicely," according to Keller's sources, who also stated that it was being treated as "accidents happen."
He's been in a few accidents (one with Gargano that was scary as well). In addition, I don't know nearly enough about fighting to be able to see someone and say, "This person is dangerous." If there isn't heat, there isn't heat.
Meltzer claims that WWE wants to induct the Steiner Brothers as a team into the Hall of Fame this year, but it depends on Scott's acceptance, according to the Sunday Night's Main Event podcast. If not, Rick will be admitted as a solo act.
The brothers were there.
According to Fightful Select, WWE shot several vignettes for Elias' return to Raw, but their source also said that "doesn't really signify anything until concrete plans are finalised." Additionally, a name change was suggested, but it is unknown what it was.
No change in name occurred. Instead, Ezekiel, Elias's brother, made his debut. (1/1)
According to PW Insider, former ROH Women's champion Rok-C has now formally joined WWE.
Her name is Roxanne Perez.

Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins is unquestionably the planned match at WrestleMania 38, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, but Ringside News claims that whatever Cody and WWE are planning is being kept a well guarded secret within the company.
He ultimately consented. How well-kept a secret was it?
According to PW Insider, Batista will be present when Undertaker is inducted into the Hall of Fame, although it's more likely that the event will take place in Los Angeles the following year.
I doubt that Batista attended the induction of the Undertaker.
They add that Kane will attend WrestleMania this year.
He was undoubtedly present to support the Undertaker.
The Observer claims that moving ahead, we can anticipate seeing a Raw star on NXT practically every week.
This is accurate if Ziggler is accounted for.
According to Fightful Select, Candice LeRae's WWE contract has not been extended or frozen and is still scheduled to expire this spring.
In May, she left.

Finn Balor revealed to BT Sport that he missed events in the latter half of 2021 and the beginning of 2022, including the Royal Rumble, because he had to fly back to Ireland to renew his work visa.
Managing that documentation must be difficult.
There was pressure on Joey Janela for hurting Eddie Kingston, according to insiders at AEW who spoke to PW Insider, and "there was an internal belief that several talents had been wounded while practising with him in the ring."
Joey no longer works at AEW.
Jonathan Gresham is reportedly in talks with both Ring of Honor and AEW, however it's unclear whether he would work for just one or both of Tony Khan's businesses, according to Fightful Select. There have allegedly been "assets produced" that show he will be working for Khan in some capacity.
He quit shortly after losing the championship to Claudio and asked to be let go. (0/1)
According to Brian Cage, who appeared on the Going Broadway podcast, "there is a plan," he has submitted ideas to AEW for his return. I suppose that's all I can really say at this point. We'll watch and wait.
Is it his intention to join the Tully-led, incredibly short-lived ROH group? He is missing once more.
Biff Busick (as Oney Lorcan) commented on Reddit that he doesn't support QAnon and believed that he was only lending money to Drake Wuertz after it became known that he had contributed to the political campaign of Wuertz.
Drake Wuertz, oh my!
