Since they were small children in 2009, Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber have been pals. Before reuniting permanently in May 2018, they had a brief affair at the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016. Following the reconciliation, an engagement was announced in July, and the couple wed in a courthouse in September.
The question of whether there was ever any crossover between Justin's relationship with Hailey and his on-and-off affair with Selena Gomez has persisted among fans despite the fact that he and Hailey have now been blissfully married for four years. During her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast on September 28, Hailey cleared up any confusion by stating that Selena and Justin were not dating at the time of her reconciliation with Justin in the spring of 2018. From October 2017 to March 2018, Selena and Justin were frequently photographed together, although Hailey stated that this was merely them "closing the door" on their relationship and that they were still apart.
The two ladies posed for pictures together at the Academy Museum's second annual gala just two weeks after the interview, in which Hailey also mentioned that she had spoken with Selena since getting married. Selena and Hailey were beaming as they cuddled up for the photographs, demonstrating there is no tension between them.
The Changes singer prioritises his leading lady, as he once again demonstrated when he defended her in front of Selena Gomez, 28, about his relationship with her. In response to a fan video pushing viewers to "go after" Hailey on social media, Justin promptly responded. "This terrible excuse of a human just urged people on tape to physically go after my wife telling people to say that my former relationship was better telling people to say that my previous relationship was better so on and so forth," he wrote. 2015 dating
After originally meeting in 2009 and spending some time together in 2014, Justin and Hailey's relationship first gained attention in Miami in 2015. They were enjoying relaxing by a pool and jet skiing, thus the sighting sparked rumours that they were dating. Around this time, they also travelled to Anguilla with Justin's family for a holiday. Together, they rang in the New Year, welcoming in 2016 with a kiss that went viral on social media. However, the union was brief as they called it quits just a few months into 2016.
In the summer of 2016, Justin had a brief relationship with Sofia Richie following his breakup with Hailey. When Selena and him were sighted taking a bike ride together following her breakup with The Weeknd in the fall of 2017, he was once more associated with the singer. The following several months saw them out on numerous dates, with their final public acknowledgement of one another being on March 1 when Selena wished Justin a happy birthday.
A little under two months later, Justin and Hailey were once more seen together. Fans were perplexed by the timing, and Jelena shippers charged Hailey with ruining Selena and Justin's union. During her Call Her Daddy interview in September 2022, Hailey put an end to this. She detailed what was going on between Justin and Selena at this period when the public believed they were back together in addition to revealing that she never slept with Justin when he was with Selena.
In that instance, Hailey said, "I know for a fact that it was the proper thing for them to close the door. I understand how it appears from the outside, and there's a lot of perception there. "As a woman, I would never want to start seeing someone, become engaged to them, wed them, and then worry in the back of my mind if that [chapter] was truly closed for you. And I am positive that the fact that it was essentially shut off is what allowed us to reconcile.
The numerous PDA-filled outings that followed the 2018 reunion demonstrated that their passion was alive and well and stronger than ever. They were back in full force, from coffee dates like the one mentioned above to other holidays, this time just the two of them.
Engagement
Hailey and Justin reconnected in June 2018, and soon after, in July, when they were on vacation in the Bahamas, Justin proposed to her. The enormous diamond ring was first glimpsed on the blonde beauty on July 8, and Justin shared the good news on Instagram on July 9. "Hailey, everything about you has me smitten! Part of his declaration was, "I am so devoted to spending my life getting to know every single part of you and loving you patiently and compassionately."
The couple openly displayed even more PDA whenever they were out and about after announcing their engagement to the public, such as on a fun outing in August (as seen in the photo above) and when they attended New York Fashion Week in early September. The day of their nuptials couldn't arrives soon enough!

On September 13, 2018, Justin and Hailey stunned everyone by getting legally wed without a ceremony while visiting a New York courthouse. When the time was right, they eventually admitted that they would organise a formal wedding ceremony and reception for immediate family members and friends, but they were happily married from the moment they formally exchanged vows. They participated in a wedding-themed photo shoot in December 2018, as shown in the image above.
Official Marriage
On September 30, 2019, Justin and Hailey enjoyed a magnificent wedding ceremony and celebration with their closest relatives and friends in South Carolina after continuing to enjoy being newlyweds for a little over a year after their legal wedding. The blushing bride looked wonderfully gorgeous in a figure-flattering white gown and long veil, and the adoring husband looked really dapper in a dapper suit. After the wonderful occasion, they shared pictures and videos of their precious time together, and it was quite touching to behold!
One Year Marking
In September 2020, the couple sent heartfelt messages to commemorate their wedding anniversary in South Carolina. As part of their tributes, they both posted gorgeous black-and-white images from their wedding day to Instagram along with emotional notes that described how they felt as they reflected on the memorable occasion.
"We had the best wedding a year ago. Hailey's caption stated, "Wish I could experience this day over and over," while Justin's was a little more in-depth. Ashley Bieber. I'm so fortunate to be YOUR husband, he exclaimed. "Every day, you teach me so much and help me become a better man. Making Family Plans
Although the couple isn't yet parents, having children is clearly on their minds! The musician, who was born in Canada, has a baby sister named Bay as well as siblings Jaxon, Jazmyn, and a stepsister named Allie. He also desires a large family like his father Jeremy Bieber. On The Ellen DeGeneres Show in December 2020, he declared, "I'm going to have as many [babies] as Hailey is wanting to push out." I'd want to have my own little tribe, but she has the body, so she can do whatever she wants with it. I imagine Hailey still has goals for herself as a woman. She simply isn't ready yet, and I don't mind that.
Justin hinted that their "next season" might be "kids" in a post honouring Hailey's 23rd birthday back in November 2019. On the Changes song "All Around Me," which closes with a baby sound, JB also got people speculating that Hailey might be expecting.
The BareMinerals model has also expressed a wish to have children. The weird thing is that I've always wanted to have kids young, Hailey stated in November 2020 to Vogue Italia. However, since becoming married, I have less of an urge. As a young woman with many projects, I am ambitious. It will occur, but not right away.
