Career Beginnings and Early Years (2005-2010)

Cassandra began anchoring for Splash, a kids' channel, when she was nine years old, and later moved on to work in commercials.

Kanda Naal Mudhal, her first feature film appearance, was in Tamil (2005). She later starred in the Kannada film Suryakaanti (2010) directed by K. M. Chaitanya (Aa Dinagalu). She appeared in the film alongside actor Chetan, and because she couldn't speak Kannada, she was instructed to act out scenes in English and then add Kannada to it. The film received positive reviews and did well at the box office. However, the film's low-key release meant that it failed to gain attention, so she took a break from films and went on to graduate in psychology from Women's Christian College, Chennai, before taking a final decision on joining the film industry.
During her break, Cassandra appeared in several short films, including Balaji Mohan's Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi, in which she co-starred with Adith Arun and was later adapted into a feature film of the same name in 2012. In 2010, it was announced that she would star alongside Adith Arun in the Tamil film Maalai Pozhudhin Mayakathilaey, but the film was eventually delayed and then restarted with a new cast.

Telugu film debut, various roles, and success (2012-2018)

Cassandra appeared in Tatineni Sathya's Shiva Manasulo Shruti, a remake of the 2009 Tamil film Siva Manasula Sakthi, in 2012. She was next seen in the Telugu romantic comedy Routine Love Story, co-starring Sundeep Kishan, which she signed even before her first Telugu release.

In 2013, she appeared in two Tamil films: Pandiraj's Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga, in which she was one of the two lead actresses, and Nirnayam, in which she played an important role. Despite the fact that the former was a box office success, she did not sign any more Tamil films and instead focused on Telugu films. Cassandra's first 2014 release was Kotha Janta, directed by Maruthi. Her performance in the film received positive feedback. According to the Deccan Chronicle, "Regina Cassandra is unquestionably the film's star. She is adorable and bubbly, and she gives a delightful performance. She has portrayed her character with ease and the appropriate expressions ". Her next films were Ra Ra... Krishnayya, in which she reteamed with Sundeep Kishan, and Power, in which she played a Bengali girl, which was a commercial success. In AS Ravi Kumar Chowdary's Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitam, she played the lead opposite Sai Dharam Tej.
