A career in television (2014–2017)
Madan, who is from Delhi, made her acting debut in the daily soap opera TV series Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi on Colors TV. She rose to prominence as the female protagonist, Ishaani Vaghela, opposite Shakti Arora. From June 2014 until February 2016, the series became one of Colors TV's most popular shows, broadcasting over 400 episodes.
While filming Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, Madan also took part in Colors TV's dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 in 2015. (2018–present)
Madan left television to star in Vishal Bhardwaj's drama Pataakha (2018) starring Sanya Malhotra. Based on Charan Singh Pathik's short story Do Behnen, which revolves around two sisters in Rajasthan who are often at odds. The plot was based on the wives of Pathik's siblings, and Madan and Malhotra met with the genuine women to learn the dialect and character characteristics. Malhotra and Madan spent time in Ronsi village near Jaipur learning the Rajasthani dialect and getting used to milking buffaloes, thatching roofs, plastering walls with dung, and walking long distances while balancing matkas full of water on their heads and one around their waist. They had to gain 10 kg (22 lb) in weight as well. "Radhika Madan positively shines in this bossy role, unwavering in dialect and determination," Raja Sen noted in his assessment.
Madan was cast in Vasan Bala's action comedy Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota in 2019, alongside newbie Abhimanyu Dassani. It premiered at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival in the Midnight Madness section, where it received the People's Choice Award: Midnight Madness. The film was also shown at the MAMI Film Festival in 2018. Madan stated that she was auditioning for Laila Majnu (2018) when she learned about Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, and she chose the latter due to its "uniqueness." She did all of the stunts herself and spent days watching old action movies to familiarize herself with the genre. She was also hurt during the physical training. Firstpost's Pradeep Menon dubbed her a "delight as Supri" and said Madan "manages to make it work by sheer will and talent" despite the character's "inconsistent treatment." He went on to say that she "sparkles in action sequences."
Madan co-starred with Irrfan Khan and Kareena Kapoor in Homi Adajania's comedy-drama Angrezi Medium in 2020, which was Khan's final film before his death in April 2020. Anupama Chopra praised her performance as a "absolute natural." She "captures the unforced innocence of a 17-year-old desperate to get out of her small town and see the world," she writes.
Madan completed four projects in 2021. She made her web series debut as Divya Didi in Ray and Avani Rajvansh in Feels Like Ishq, both of which received critical acclaim. She also appeared in the music video for Jasleen Royal's single Ni Jaana. In 2021, her lone film was released on Disney+ Hotstar. Shiddat, a romantic comedy starring Kunal Deshmukh and Sunny Kaushal.
In 2022, she made a cameo appearance in the Netflix neo-noir criminal comedy drama Monica, O My Darling. Her first release in 2023 was Vishal Bhardwaj's production and his son Aasmaan's directorial debut crime thriller film Kuttey, which received mixed to excellent reviews from reviewers. "Radhika's candour stays true to Kuttey's unhinged ways," Rediff's Sukanya Verma commented.
Madan's upcoming ventures include Kacchey Limbu, in which he will co-star with Rajat Barmecha and Ayush Mehra. She has finished filming for Adajania's untitled web series. In Sudhanshu Saria's Sanaa, she plays the title role. The film will make its international premiere in November 2022 at the 26th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. She recently wrapped production on the untitled remake of Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, which will be released on September 1, 2023, opposite Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal.
