Rojda Demirer (born August 12, 1980) is a Kurdish-born Turkish theater, film, television, and voice actress.

The early years

She was born in Ankara to a Diyarbakr-born father. Her father's family is Kurdish, from the Raman tribe. Belçim Bilgin, an actress, is her cousin. Demirer's father died of cancer when she was seven years old. She shared a home with her mother and her older sister Ruken. The Kurdish word for "sunrise" is rojda. She, however, does not speak Kurdish.

She began performing in children's programs on the state-owned TRT's Radio Ankara when she was eight years old. Demirer studied drama at the Turkish State Conservatory of Hacettepe University in Ankara from 1997 to 2001. From 2003 to 2008, she worked for the Trabzon State Theater after graduation.

Her role in the Show TV youth drama series Melekler Korusun earned her the smail Cem Television Award for "Best Supporting Actress in a TV-series for Youth" in 2010. Fox TV Turkey is currently re-running the serial.

She recently opened an upmarket home-made chocolate store called "Marie-Antoinette Chocolate" in memory of the French Queen in Istanbul's Nişantaş district with her sister Ruken Demirer, who is also an actress.
