Anna Vladimirovna Shurochkina (Russian: нна ладимировна урокина; born 15 August 1990), often known as Nyusha (Russian: а), is a Russian singer-songwriter. Nyusha, one of the most popular performers in contemporary Russia, holds the record for the most number-one singles in the country.
Nyusha Shurochkin, the daughter of former Laskovyi Mai member Vladimir Shurochkin, began her career as a teenager, competing in New Wave 2008 and finishing eighth. Following that, she was signed to Warner Music Russia and released her debut studio album Vybirat chudo in 2010; the album spawned four number-one singles in Russia, and Nyusha was named Best Russian Act at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards. Obedineniye, her second studio album, was released in 2014, yielding four more number-one hits and earning Nyusha the prize for Best Russian Act at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards.
Early years
Nyusha was born on August 15, 1990, into a family of musicians; her father, Vladimir Shurochkin, was a former member of the musical group Laskovyi Mai (асков ма). Her mother, Irina Shurochkina, used to be a member of a rock band.
She began performing on stage at the age of 11 with the group Grizli. The band performed in Russia and Germany. She changed her name from Anna to Nyusha when she was 17 years old.
Career 2007–2009: Early in one's career
Nyusha finished seventh in the international competition New Wave 2008, and she also created the closing song for the heroine in the dubbed version of the film Enchanted. She released her first single, о на луну (Voyu na lunu), meaning Howl at the Moon, in 2009. Her song was named Song of the Year in 2009. She debuted the new songs Angel in Russian and English during the Europa Plus Live 2009 performance. Why?
Vybirat chudo and breakthrough in 2010-2011
Nyusha released her second song, e ереива (Do Not Interrupt), in 2010. She released two new singles in 2011: олно (It Hurts) and е (Higher). These are the fourth and fifth singles from ират удо, her debut album.
2012-2015: More success and growth
In January 2012, the song е started to climb to the top of various Russian charts. On April 28, she performed at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow as part of her maiden tour in support of her debut album ират удо. During the show, she unveiled three new songs: two singles (осоминание and единение) and a duet with her father (You are my life).
She released the song аедине (Alone) in March 2013 as the second single from her second studio album, which is set to be published by the end of the year.
Private life
In the Maldives in 2017, she married Igor Sivov and became stepmother to his two children from a previous marriage. The pair has a daughter who was born in 2018. Simba (Seraphima) is her name. Nyusha revealed her second pregnancy in July 2021. Saffron, their son, was born on December 14, 2021.
