Nivetha Thomas (born November 2, 1994) is an Indian actress who has appeared in films in Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil. As a child artist, she made her film debut in the 2008 Malayalam film Veruthe Oru Bharya, for which she received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist.
She went on to star in films such as Chaappa Kurishu (2011), Romans (2013), Jilla (2014), Papanasam (2015), Gentleman (2016), Ninnu Kori (2017), Jai Lava Kusa (2017), 118 (2019), Brochevarevarura (2019), V (2020), and Vakeel Saab (2020). (2021).
Early years
Nivetha Thomas was born in Madras (now Chennai) on November 2, 1994. Her ancestors are from Edoor village in the Iritty taluk of Kerala. She attended Holy Angels and Montfort Matriculation Schools in Chennai. SRM University awarded her a Bachelor of Architecture degree. She is proficient in Malayalam, Tamil, French, Hindi, Telugu, and English.
Career
Early career and feature film debut
She began her career as a child actress in the Sun TV series My Dear Bootham. She then played Jayaram's daughter in Veruthe Oru Bharya, where her performance was well received. She then signed on for a few Tamil and Malayalam films, mostly in supporting roles. Among her Malayalam projects were Chaappa Kurish and Thattathin Marayathu, the latter of which was expected to be "the biggest box-office hit in Malayalam cinema history," according to Sify. Tamizhselvi, a petrol bunk employee, appeared in Samuthirakani's 2011 Tamil film Poraali. She previously worked with Samuthirakani on the Arasi drama series.
In 2013, Thomas starred in Romans, which was a huge success and was dubbed a "blockbuster" by Sify.com. She played Jaishree, an aspiring singer, in the Tamil contemporary fantasy comedy Naveena Saraswathi Sabatham. In Jilla, she played Mahalakshmi, who is very close to her father (Mohanlal) and two brothers, Vijay and Mahath. About her role, she stated that it was not "just another sister role" but that of "a strong willed girl who influences her brother in a positive way". Juliet Lover of Idiot, directed by Ajay Vodhirala, is her first Telugu film. She played Kamal Haasan's eldest daughter in the Tamil remake of Drishyam, titled Papanasam, and received positive feedback from viewers.
Telugu debut and success in 2016-18
In 2016, Thomas made her Telugu film debut in the action-thriller Gentleman opposite Nani, which received critical acclaim and garnered her several awards, including a SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut (Telugu) at the 6th South Indian International Movie Awards and a Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Telugu Nomination at the 64th Filmfare Awards South. She later became well-known in Telugu cinema.

Her first release in 2017 was another Telugu film, this time opposite Nani, the romantic entertainer Ninnu Kori, which opened to positive reviews and praised her performance as "pallavi," landing her second Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actress - Telugu at the 65th Filmfare Awards South. Her next film, Jai Lava Kusa, starred Jr. NTR was one of the highest-grossing films in 2017 at the box office. Her most recent film, Juliet Lover of Idiot, starring Naveen Chandra, was delayed and later released, becoming a commercial failure at the box office. Thomas signed the romantic drama Swaasa, co-starring Nikhil Siddharth, in October 2018.
2019: Resurrection
Thomas's first release in 2019 was the action thriller 118, in which he co-starred with Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. The film received positive reviews, and critics praised Thomas's outstanding performance in a brief but impressive role. Later, she starred in the black comedy film Brochevarevarura opposite Sree Vishnu, which received positive reviews and widespread acclaim for her portrayal of "mitra," an underperformer academic student who aspires to be a classical dancer.
In 2020, Thomas appeared in Rajinikanth's Darbar as his daughter. Later that year, she also appeared in the Indraganti-directed action thriller V. Thomas will appear in Vakeel Saab, the Telugu remake of the Hindi film Pink, starring Pawan Kalyan, in 2021.
In July 2021, Thomas will star alongside Regina Cassandra in Sudheer Varma's Saakini Daakini, a Telugu remake of the Korean film Midnight Runners.
