Neha Marda is a television actress from India. Her films include Balika Vadhu, Doli Armaano Ki, and Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti. She took part in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2015.
Life and work
1991-2008: Childhood and acting debut
Marda was born in one of three years: 1986, 1987, or 1991. She was raised in a small town near Kolkata by a Marwari family. Neha is a Rajasthani native.
Marda rose to prominence after appearing as a competitor on Sony TV's Boogie Woogie and winning the show in 2004. She appeared on the show at the ages of 11, 17, and 19, and judged an episode when she was 21. She made her acting debut in Sahara One's Saath Rahega Always in 2005. She went on to play Shruti in Ghar Ek Sapnaa after the show ended.
She played Simran in Zee TV's Mamta in 2006. She made an episodic debut in Ssshhhh...Koi Hai in 2007, and then played Manvi in Ekta Kapoor's Kahe Naa Kahe.
Breakthrough with Balika Vadhu and Doli Armaanon Ki from 2008 to 2015.
In 2008, she starred as Priyamvada alongside Ali Merchant in Zee TV's Ek Thi Rajkumari. Marda's breakout role was Gehna in Colors TV's longest-running show, Balika Vadhu, which she performed from 2008 until 2011. She co-starred with Neil Bhatt in Jo Ishq Ki Marzi Woh Rab Ki Marzi in 2009. Marda played Pratima, the antagonist in Star Plus's Shraddha, from 2009 to 2010.
In 2010, she took part in Imagine TV's Meethi Choori No. 1. She debuted as a guest participant on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4 in January 2011, where she was matched with contestant Meiyang Chang. She appeared on Kitchen Champion 4 and Nachle Ve alongside Saroj Khan in 2011. Marda went on to appear in series such as Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai (2012) and Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev (2013). (2013).
Marda was cast as Urmi in Zee TV's Doli Armaano Ki, alongside Mohit Malik in the lead role. Marda left the show in 2015, and Manasi Salvi took her place. The show concluded on September 25, 2015.
Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and other ventures from 2015 until the present
Marda appeared in the eighth season of Colors TV's dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in September 2015, after leaving Doli Armaano Ki. She competed as a wild card, with Anita Hassanandani and Roopal Tyagi. She and her choreographer, Rajit Dev, were ousted after two weeks. In 2016, she competed in Box Cricket League 2 with Karan Wahi's 'Delhi Draggons' team. She played alongside Hina Khan as a guest participant on Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 8 during the adolescent ka tadka special week in 2017.
In 2018, she took up the role of Bella from Zee TV's Piya Albela. Later, she played Genda in an episode of &TV's Laal Ishq, opposite Sartaj Gill. She took part in Khatra Khatra Khatra in 2019. Marda has been starring as Shubhra on Zee TV's Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti since 2020, opposite Siddhaanth Vir Surryavanshi. Neha resigned from Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti on October 13, 2021, owing to personal issues.The producers decided to take a chance on a show in which Neha was supposed to play the character of Shubra's daughter, but when she decided to leave, the producers opted to cancel the show in December 2021.
Other assignments
On July 1, 2018, she established the Royal Opera House Academy (ROHA) in Patna, which offers instruction in dance, theatre, and singing to performing arts enthusiasts.
Neha Marda is most recognised for her role as 'Gehna' in the Balika Vadhu series. "She watched the CDs of Bandit Queen to get into the skin of her character Gehna in Balika Vadhu," Neha stated in an interview.
Private life
She married Ayushman Agrawal, a Patna-based businessman, in an arranged marriage on February 10, 2012, in Kolkata. In April 2023, she gave birth to a baby girl.
