Neelam Muneer Khan (born March 20, 1992) is a Pakistani actress and model who has appeared in television dramas and films. She is best known for her role as Ulfat in the television series Dil Mom Ka Diya (2018), for which she received a nomination for Best TV Actress at the 18th Lux Style Awards. She made her feature film debut in the comedy-thriller Chupan Chupai (2017), followed by a lead role in the romantic comedy Wrong No. 2 (2019), both of which were commercially successful.
Early years
Neelam Muneer was born in Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but raised in Karachi. When she was three years old, her father died. As a single parent, Neelam and her three sisters were raised by her mother. She began modeling while still in school and later graduated on her own. Shamoon Abbasi first approached her about a television series. She eventually made her television debut in director Kazim Pasha's drama series Thora Sa Aasmaan, which aired on PTV Home.
Muneer made her acting debut on television with the drama series Thoda Sa Aasmaan. She later appeared on Geo TV in Meri Subha Ka Sitara, Qaid-e-Tanhai, Aankh Macholi, Shehr-e-Dil Ke Darwazey, Jal Pari, Ashk, and Urdu 1's serial Meri Saheli Meri Humjoli. She also had roles in the Geo TV shows Meri Behen Maya and Daray Daray Naina. In 2018, she starred as the lead in the social drama Umm-e-Haniya. The same year, she played Ulfat in the critically acclaimed drama series Dil Mom Ka Diya, which became one of Pakistani television's most watched shows. The series earned her a nomination for Best TV Actress at the 18th Lux Style Awards. From 2019 to 2020, she starred in Kahin Deep Jaley alongside Imran Ashraf as Rida, an innocent girl whose cousin's jealousy and hatred caused her many misfortunes and hardships.
In 2020, she co-starred with Yasir Nawaz and Wahaj Ali in Bikhray Moti, a serial co-produced by Humayun Saeed and Samina Humayun Saeed. Muneer portrayed Ayeza, a strong and independent young woman, in this serial.
Film
Muneer made her film debut in 2017 with the comedy thriller Chupan Chupai, in which she co-starred with Ahsan Khan. According to Rahul Aijaz of The Express Tribune, Muneer "serves her limited function of sprinkling masala in the film." At the 17th Lux Style Awards, she was nominated for Best Film Actress for the film. She then starred in the romantic comedy film Wrong No. 2 with Sami Khan, a sequel to the 2015 film Wrong No. 1. The film was released on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr in 2019. Her performance in the film fared better. Chupan Chupai and Wrong No. 2 were both commercial successes. Muneer sang an item number in the film Kaaf Kangana. "Muneer doesn't exactly bust out scandalous moves; she emotes with her eyes and facial expressions, trying to make sense of the song's dialogues," wrote Haiya Bokhari of Dawn.
She played twins in the murder mystery film Chakkar in 2022.
