Nathalie Kelley is a Peruvian-born Australian actress best known for her role as Neela in the 2006 action film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, as well as roles in television series such as Body of Proof (2011-2012), Unreal (2015), The Vampire Diaries (2016-2017), Dynasty (2017-2018), and The Baker and the Beauty (2020).
Kelley was born in Lima, Peru, on March 3, 1984, to a Peruvian mother and an Argentine father. When she was three, her family relocated to Sydney. She had aspired to be an actor since she was a child. North Sydney Girls High School was her alma mater.
Career
Charmed executive producers Brad Kern, Aaron Spelling, and E. Duke Vincent created the one-hour pilot Mermaid for The WB in 2005. Kelley was cast as the series' protagonist Nikki, a mermaid who washes ashore in Miami and is rescued by a young man. Because of the merger of The WB and UPN into The CW, the pilot was not picked up; the resulting network passed on the show.
Kelley had her breakthrough as Neela in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, the third edition of the Fast & Furious franchise, in June 2006. Kelley co-starred in the low-budget drama crime flick Loaded with Jesse Metcalfe in March 2008. Kelley appeared in the throwback comedy film Take Me Home Tonight in March 2011, alongside Topher Grace, Anna Faris, and fellow Australian Teresa Palmer. The film was shot in Los Angeles in 2007, but Universal Pictures postponed its release for unclear reasons. The next month, Kelley starred in the low-budget horror film Urban Explorer, which follows a group of four urban explorers as they explore an underground world beneath Berlin.
Kelley appeared in the music video for Bruno Mars's song "Just the Way You Are" in 2010. Kelley joined on as a prominent recurring character in the second season of the ABC criminal thriller television series Body of Proof in August 2011. Kelley played Dani Alvarez in ten episodes, with her final appearance in "Going Viral Part One." Kelley appeared as a vampire princess in the video clip "Luna Llena" by Puerto Rican reggaeton duet Baby Rasta & Gringo in 2012. She was cast as a regular on the Lifetime series Unreal in 2014. Kelley was cast as Carmen Castillo in the TV pilot sequel to the 1999 film Cruel Intentions in 2016, however the project was cancelled. Kelley starred as Sybil in the final season of The Vampire Diaries on The CW from 2016 to 2017.
Kelley played Cristal in The CW's Dynasty reboot's first season, which aired from 2017 to 2018. In 2020, she made her debut as Noa Hamilton in the ABC series The Baker and the Beauty.
Kelley dated The Vampire Diaries co-star Zach Roerig in her personal life. They divorced in 2017.
In 2018, Kelley began dating Jordan "Jordy" Burrows. That April, she announced their engagement in an Instagram post, and they married on April 29, 2018. They divorced in 2020.
