Mai Charoenpura (Thai: ; born January 5, 1969), also known by her previous stage name Mai Siriwimol (Thai: ), is a Thai singer and actor.


Early years

She was born in Bangkok, Thailand, to Thai actor Surin Charoenpura (stage name: Ruj Ronnapop) and Winee Sontikool. Venic White, Vipavee Maguire, and a half sister, actress Intira Charoenpura, are her sisters. Mai attended Farringtons School in England.

A career in music

Since 1989, Charoenpura has released hundreds of albums, music videos, and participated in numerous shows as a singer.

Charoenpura performed in Manchester in 2007 for a concert hosted by former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra to commemorate his ownership of Manchester City F.C.

Career as an actor

Charoenpura has played a variety of roles on Thai television and in cinema since the 1980s.

She is best known as the actress who played 'Pring' in Khon Rerng Muang (Thai: ). She embraced the character so much that she portrayed 'Pring' twice in two separate made-for-TV remakes in 1988 and 2002. She rose to international prominence for her portrayal of the evil Lady Srisudachan in Chatrichalerm Yukol's 2001 film The Legend of Suriyothai, which was released theatrically in the United States in 2003.

Charoenpura co-starred with Akara Amarttayakul and Supaksorn Chaimongkol in the anthology horror film Die a Violent Death in 2010.

Memory and Meat Grinder are two of her other films.

In 2019, she returned to acting after a long layoff, starring as Yoi in the Channel 3 drama Krong Kam.
