Melis Sezen is a Turkish actress who was born on January 2, 1997.
Sezen made her television debut in Hayat Bazen Tatldr, a youth series, and was later cast in Siyah nci. She had her first leading role in Leke, followed by a main role in Sevgili Geçmiş. Sezen has appeared in a number of films in addition to her television work. Her first major film role came in 2018, with a role in Bizim çin ampiyon. She appeared in the films Tilki Yuvas and Dünya Hali the same year. In 2019, she was cast in Mahsun Krmzgül's film Mucize 2: Aşk. Her most recent TV appearance was as "Nazan" in TRT 1's series Ya stiklal Ya lüm. She was cast in a leading role in Sadakatsiz in September 2020.
Life and work
Sezen was born on January 2, 1997, in Silivri, Istanbul, and graduated from Selimpaşa Atatürk Anatolian High School. Her father's family members are Albanian-Macedonian immigrants, while her mother's family members are Turkish immigrants from Thessaloniki, Greece. Sezen has a younger brother, and her family is in the business of trading. In one interview, she stated that her family was supportive of her decision to pursue a career as a theatre actress, and in another, she states that it was her mother who discovered her interest in acting and enrolled her at Müjdat Gezen Art Center. Sezen began studying drama at the age of 12 and studied theater for a year at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center. Then she was cast in the play Cümbüş-ü Hospital at the Ali Solmaz Theatre in Silivri. Meanwhile, she continued her education and graduated from the Department of Media and Visual Arts at Koç University. She made her television debut in the series Hayat Bazen Tatldr between 2016 and 2017.
She portrayed "Ebru" in the TV series Siyah nci from 2017 to 2018. She made her cinematic film in 2018 alongside a number of independent films. She first appeared in the film Dünya Hali, then in Tilki Yuvas. Following these films, she landed her first serious film role in Bizim çin ampiyon, which tells the story of racehorse Bold Pilot and jokester Halis Karataş. In 2019, she starred as "Yasemin" in the television series Leke. Following that, she played the character "Deren" in Sevgili Geçmiş. In 2019, she also appeared as "Beren" in the film Mucize 2: Aşk. Sezen was also among the first 100 names on IMDb's Starmetre list the same year.
In 2020, she starred as "Nazan" in the historical miniseries Ya stiklal Ya lüm, which depicted the occupation of Constantinople, the dissolution of the Chamber of Deputies, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's Kuva-yi Milliye movement, and the processes of establishing a new national assembly in Ankara. She also appeared in the film Kovala, which was originally scheduled to be released on April 17, 2020, but the premiere date was pushed back due to new measures implemented as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. She has been starring alongside Cansu Dere and Caner Cindoruk in the Kanal D series Sadakatsiz, a local adaptation of Doctor Foster, since October 2020.
Private life
Melis was rumored to be dating Turkish singer Murat Dalklç, who had previously dated actress Hande Erçel, in 2020, but both of them revealed on Instagram that they aren't dating.
