Liu Shishi (Chinese: ; pinyin: Li Shsh; born 10 March 1987) is a Chinese actress best known for her roles as Long Kui in Chinese Paladin 3 and Ruoxi in the Chinese time-travel drama Scarlet Heart and Imperial Doctress. She is often referred to as one of the "New Four Dan Actresses."
2005-2010 Career: Beginnings and Rising Popularity
Liu Shishi, who studied ballet at the Beijing Dance Academy, made her acting debut in the television drama series The Moon and the Wind. (2005). She incorporated a scene from Swan Lake into one of her scenes. Following that, she appeared in the wuxia drama The Young Warriors (2006) and the shenmo television series The Fairies of Liaozhai. 2013–present: Popularity among the general public
Liu co-starred in the action comedy Badges of Fury with Jet Li in 2013. She then co-starred in the critically acclaimed wuxia film Brotherhood of Blades with Taiwanese actor Chang Chen. For her performance, Liu was nominated for Best Actress at the China Film Directors Guild Awards.
Liu returned to television in 2014 with the historical romantic drama Sound of the Desert, based on Tong Hua's novel Ballad of the Desert. The series dominated television and web ratings in the United States, and it was also well appreciated elsewhere. Liu then had multiple roles in the romantic film Five Minutes to Tomorrow. She and co-stars Haruma Miura and Joseph Chang attended the premiere of the film at the 19th Busan International Film Festival, where she received the Asia Star Award.
In 2016, Liu starred in The Imperial Doctress, a historical drama based on the life of Tan Yunxian, a notable female physician during China's Ming Dynasty. The drama earned great reviews and topped television ratings during its run, and Liu won the Most Influential Actress award at the 1st China Television Drama Quality Ceremony for her performance.
In 2017, Liu co-starred in The Battle at Dawn, an espionage thriller produced by the Ministry of Public Security, alongside renowned actors Wang Qianyuan and Cao Bingkun. The same year, she co-starred with Ming Dao in the romance melodrama Angelo as a young single mother. Liu then appeared in the historical fantasy drama Lost Love in Times, co-starring with William Chan, as well as the crime thriller The Liquidator, in which she played a palaeoichnology expert.

Private life
Liu Shishi's grandfather, Liu Tianli, was born in Shandong Province's Wudi County. He was a Xihe drum performance artist known as the "Master of Drums."
