Li Yitong (Chinese: ; pinyin: L Ytóng, born September 6, 1990) is a Chinese singer and actress. She is best known for her roles as Wan Mei, an assassin in the 2018 Chinese television series Bloody Romance, Huang Rong in the 2017 Chinese television series The Legend of the Condor Heroes, Lu Wenxi (Abao) in the 2019 Chinese television series Royal Nirvana, and Fu Rou in the 2021 Chinese television series Court Lady.
Childhood and education
Li Yitong began dancing when she was around ten years old, taking amateur-level classes. She later applied to and was admitted to the Shenzhen Art School at the age of 12 on the advice of a teacher. She earned her bachelor's degree in folk dance from the Beijing Dance Academy, China's leading dance institution. Prior to becoming an actress, Li aspired to open a tea restaurant in which she could incorporate aspects of dance performance. However, after assisting friends at film school for a microcinema, she became fascinated and chose to pursue a career in acting.
Career
Li made her acting debut in the historical fantasy web series Demon Girl by Yu Zheng in 2016.
She rose to prominence in China after starring as Huang Rong in the television adaptation of Jin Yong's wuxia novel Legend of the Condor Heroes in 2017.
In 2018, Li starred as an assassin named Wan Mei in the wuxia romance web series Bloody Romance. She also sang one of the theme songs for the drama. The series was a huge economic success, with over 600 million views online as of August 2018. The following year, she made her feature film debut in the comedy Keep Calm and Be a Superstar.
Li appeared in the period romance drama Blossom in Heart with Deng Lun, the historical political drama Royal Nirvana with Luo Jin, and the wuxia drama Sword Dynasty with Li Xian in 2019.
Li co-starred in the fantasy romance film Love You Forever and the modern romance drama Don't Think Twice, Love's All Right in 2020.
In 2021, she played the female lead role of Fu Rou, a dressmaker, in the fantasy romantic drama Court Lady.
