Kseniya Aleksandrovna Rappoport (Russian: сени лександpовна аоорт, born March 25, 1974) is a Russian actress. She graduated from the Saint Petersburg Academy of Theatrical Arts in 2000 and was instantly accepted into the Maly Drama Theatre. In The Seagull, she played Nina Zarechnaya, Elena in Uncle Vania, and Sonia in La doppia ora.
Streets of Broken Lights, Baron, Anna Karenina, Nicholas II (Germany), The Russian Bride, National Security Agent, Empire under Attack, Calendula Flowers, Prokofiev (Germany), Get Thee Out, Criminal Petersburg, Homicide, and I Pay Up Front and My Wife's Romance (France) are among her film and television credits. She appeared in the Italian films La sconosciuta (The Unknown Woman; 2006), L'uomo che ama (2008), and La doppia ora (2009), for which she received the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the 66th Venice Film Festival.
Biography
Rappoport was born into a Jewish family in Leningrad, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union (now Saint Petersburg, Russia). She made her film debut at the age of 16, and her decision to become an actress was influenced by her performance in the film Get Thee Out.
She graduated from Saint Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy (SPbGATI) in 2000, where she studied in the VM Filshtinsky class, and was immediately invited to join the trainee group at St. Petersburg Maly Drama Theater, where she is currently an actress. Xenia played Nina Zarechnaya in The Seagull set Lev Dodin in 2001, She also played a girl in "Claustrophobia" (MDT), Elena Andreyevna in Uncle Vanya (Prize "Gold spotlights" in 2003 for Best Actress) and Sofia in Play without Name directed by Lev Dodin in MDT, Jocasta in Oedipus Rex, Beatrice in The Servant of Two Masters and Ismenio in Antigone (State Theatre on Foundry).
In Kirill Serebrennikov's 2008 film Yuri's Day, Rappoport plays an opera diva whose son unexpectedly disappears. She was nominated for Best Actress at the Kinotavr Film Festival, the Golden Eagle Awards, and the Russian Guild of Film Critics Awards. She earned the Venice Film Festival's Best Actress award in September 2009 for her performance in The Double Hour.
Rappoport was named Honored Artist of the Russian Federation in December 2009.
Rappoport was received the Golden Lion award at the 58th International Film Festival in Taormina (Sicily, Italy) on June 27, 2012.
She received the Golden Eagle Award in 2012 for her performance in the film Two Days (2011).
She received a Stanislavsky Award at the 35th Moscow International Film Festival for "conquest of tops of actor's skill and loyalty to the principles of Stanislavsky school."
In 2013, Rappoport was awarded the International Prize of Stanislavsky (2012-2013 theatrical season) in the category "Skill actor" (Best Actress) for her performance as Lady Milford in the play Intrigue and Love directed by Lev Dodin (MDT theatrical of Europe). In 2014, she was named one of the "Top 50 Most Famous People in St. Petersburg" in the theater for her active participation in the Board of Trustees "Children Bella" and the role of Ranevskaya in Lev Dodin's The Cherry Orchard.
In March 2015, she received the Association of Producers of Film and Television Award for Best Actress TV Movie/Series for her portrayal as Olga in the television series Ladoga.
Rappoport's father was Jewish, and she has maintained that she has never concealed her Jewish heritage.
Rappoport was married (divorced) to Russian businessman Viktor Tarasov. Darya-Aglaya Tarasova is their daughter. She later married Russian actor Yuri Kolokolnikov, with whom she had a daughter, Sofia, who was born in January 2011.
Kseniya Rappoport is currently married to Dmitriy Borisov, a restaurateur. She made public the marriage, which took place discreetly some time before February 2016.
