Korean singer Jang Gyuri announces exit from all-girl K-pop group fromis_9.

South Korean singer and actor Jang Gyuri is all set to make an exit from all-girl K-pop group fromis_9. she would conclude her contract after finishing the 5th mini album from "our Memento Box Promotions", according to the reports.

The talented singer, who shot to fame with the rise of the fromis_9, will embark on a new journey after ending her association with the group effective from July 31.

The all-girl group's agency Pledis Entertainment issued a detailed statement regarding the new development and confirmed that the size of all-girl K-pop group will now get reduced from nine members to eight from August.

The agency expressed gratitude to its fans for their unconditional love and support of fromis_9. It informed them that the group would meet their fans in the upcoming activities scheduled for the remaining half of the year.

Pledis further added that as Gyuri will bid adieu to the fromis_9 group, her last promotional activity for the group will be the fifth EP "from our Memento Box". Gyuri is expected to end her contract earlier with the agency on July 31 to start a new journey.

Why is Jang leaving the K-pop group?

Reportedly, the group entered a new contract on their transfer to Pledis Entertainment in August 2021. All eight members of fromis_9 signed the new agreement. In contrast, Jang Gyuri was the only one, who chose to maintain the conditions of her original contract with her former agency before fromis_9 agreed to enter the new exclusive contract with PLEDIS.

The singer's departure comes given Pledis taking charge of tasks, including the management of the team and individual activities. Pledis has been all praise about Gyuri being a committed member, who gave her best as a member of fromis_9.

The decision of her departure came after careful deliberations on what would be in the best interest of everyone involved. The agency appealed to the fans to continue sending their love and support to Gyuri and the eight members of fromis_9, who will begin a new journey in their careers.
