Karishma Tanna Bangera (born December 21, 1983) is an Indian actress, model, and television host who primarily works in Hindi films and series. In 2001, she made her television debut in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She is well-known for her roles in Qayamat Ki Raat and Naagin 3. In 2014, she competed on the reality show Bigg Boss 8, finishing as the first runner-up. In 2020, she competed in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 10 and was crowned the champion.

She also appeared in Zara Nachke Dikha 1 (2008), Nach Baliye 7 (2015), and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9. (2016). Tanna made her cinematic debut in Suneel Darshan's Dosti: Friends Forever as Nandini Thapar. (2006). She appeared in Indra Kumar's hit comedy Grand Masti in 2013. She appeared in Rajkumar Hirani's biography of Sanjay Dutt, Sanju, in 2018. The same year, she made her digital debut as Zoya Hussain in ALT Balaji's web series Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat.

Early years

Tanna was born on December 21, 1983, and raised in a Gujarati home. She lives with and is very close to her mother; her father died in October 2012.

Career

From 2000 through 2006, she made her acting debut in Dosti: Friends Forever.

Tanna first debuted as Indu in the Balaji Telefilms soap opera Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She went on to star in the show Kahi To Milenge.

Tanna played Krutika, the female lead in the TV serial Kkoi Dil Mein Hai. She later appeared in Ek Ladki Anjaani Si as the antagonist Ayesha.

Tanna made her Bollywood debut as Nandini Thapar in the 2005 film Dosti: Friends Forever.

Tanna has also appeared in a number of television commercials, including Stayfree, Lifebuoy, and Nirma. In addition, she appeared in Rajshri Productions' Pyaar Ke Do Naam: Ek Raadha, Ek Shyaam. Tanna made her stage debut in Vandana Sajnani's Hinglish romantic comedy Perfect Wedding in September 2006. The work was adapted from the same-named British drama by Robin Howdon.

Television hosting and Grand Masti from 2007 until 2013.

Tanna appeared in the stage-based comedic television series comedic Circus, which premiered in June 2007. In February 2010, she returned to Comedy Circus Mahasangram. In 2008, she competed in Zara Nachke Dikha and won the competition with her team. She then appeared in the reality shows Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket and Kaho Na Yaar Hai.

She was the host of reality shows such as Kaante Ki Takkar and Comedy Champions. Tanna presented India's Magic Star, a magic-themed reality TV show, in July 2010. She appeared in Imagine TV's Meethi Choori No. 1 in August 2010. She also appeared in Star One's Jaane Pehchaane Se... Ye Ajnabbi as Avni.

She took part in Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout in 2011. She portrayed Ms Jaffery in Sony TV's Adaalat the same year. She appeared as Rani Pari in the children's television show Baal Veer in 2012.

Grand Masti, a Bollywood sex comedy and a sequel to the April 2004 film Masti, was released in September 2013, with Tanna starring as Unatti.

Bigg Boss 8, Naagin 3, and other successes from 2014 to the present

Tanna appeared on Bigg Boss 8, a popular and contentious reality show. She spent four months in the house and finished first runner-up. Tanna competed in the dance reality show Nach Baliye 7 with Upen Patel in 2015, finishing as the second runner-up.

Karishma appeared as a guest on the popular stunt reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7 in March 2016.  She has featured as a guest on Colors TV's popular comedy show Comedy Nights Bachao. In 2016, Karishma appeared on the popular dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9. Tanna also appeared as Maskeeni in Life OK's Naagarjuna - Ek Yoddha. Tanna co-judged BIG Magic's reality show Big Memsaab with Sambhavna Seth and Pritam Singh in January 2017.

In April 2018, she played Zoya Hussain in ALT Balaji's Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat. Tanna appeared as Ruhi in Colors TV's renowned supernatural series Naagin 3 in May 2018. In June 2018, Tanna acted in Rajkumar Hirani's film Sanju and as Gauri in Ekta Kapoor's Qayamat Ki Raat.

Tanna participated on Kitchen Champion 5 with Karan Tacker in February 2019. She later featured on Khatra Khatra Khatra in May 2019. In 2020, she competed in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 10 and was crowned the champion. She will appear in Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari in the song "Basanti" in November 2020. Tanna starred as Lolo in the web series Bullets in 2021.

Private life

Tanna met actor Upen Patel inside the Bigg Boss 8 house in 2014 and later became engaged to him. They dissolved their romance in 2016.
Tanna began dating Varun Bangera, a Mumbai-based real estate businessman, in 2021. They married in an intimate ceremony the same year. On February 5, 2022, she married Varun Bangera.
