Jesse Williams joins the third season of Only Murders in the Building

Only Murders in the Building season 2 finale spoilers are forthcoming.

Every Tuesday, it seems like everyone unwinds and settles into their couch to watch Only Murders in the Building, a comedy series on Hulu that has been nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe. (You only need one to become addicted!)

After completing its second season, OMitB delves into the stunning death of Arconia Board President Bunny Folger, with Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) attempting to identify her killer despite difficulties. They are now the focus of a rival podcast from Cinda Canning (Tina Fey), and they must deal with a group of nosy New York neighbours who all believe the trio killed Bunny since they have been publicly accused in the crime. They need to identify the true killer in order to clear their reputations, but that is proving to be more difficult than they anticipated.

Only Murders in the Building is the actual crown jewel of our lineup, according to Hulu Originals President Craig Erwich, who also noted that OMitB is unquestionably a network favourite. Since viewers have repeatedly shown us that they want more of this story, we are grateful to be able to keep sharing the stories of Charles, Oliver, and Mabel.

Given how well-liked the programme is, it should come as no surprise that OMitB received a third season renewal on July 11, shortly after the second season's launch. So without further ado, let's solve the mystery of Only Murders in the Building's third season.
When will the third season air?

It's safe to conclude that the public will have to wait a bit before Only Murders returns, given that the season finale just aired and season 3 filming hasn't yet begun. However, we can use previous seasons as a guide: Eight months after the start of season 1 in August 2021, season 2, which premiered on June 28, had a brisk turnaround. Will season 3 arrive as quickly?

Who is going to be in the cast?
For the third season, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez will probably reprise their roles as the enduringly popular trio of Charles, Oliver, and Mabel on our screens.
Although the rest of the cast has not yet been finalised, there is a chance that Da 'Vine will appear more frequently. Joy Randolph plays Detective Williams, Ryan Broussard portrays Will Putnam, Zoe Colletti portrays Lucy, Tina Fey portrays Cinda Canning, and Michael Howard was portrayed by Cyril Creighton, Teddy Dimas by Nathan Lane, and Theo Dimas by James Caverly. We anticipate welcoming new visitors to the Arconia as well.

Paul Rudd, a new cast member for season 3, is also alluded to in the final seconds of the season 2 finale. In Oliver's Broadway production, he portrays an actor who most likely sets the course of the season's events. Rudd is definitely coming back, regardless of whether he'll be a series regular or merely make a few guest appearances in season 3, perhaps for a few flashbacks.
Paul Rudd, who appeared as Ben Glenroy at the end of Season 2, is someone we obviously want to learn more about and see in our upcoming Season 3 because he is a clear source of many upcoming questions and, as always with our programme, many twists yet to come! John Hoffman, a co-creator, told Variety.

The Grey's Anatomy star Jesse Williams will play a recurring part in season 3's cast. According to Deadline, he will portray a documentary filmmaker who is interested in the case Mabel, Charles, and Oliver are working on.
What's the plot of season 3?
The mystery for season 3 is set up in the season 2 conclusion. (There will be major spoilers!) The premiere night of a Broadway musical Oliver is directing is skipped over in the episode by a year. The show's stars, Charles and Ben Glenroy (Rudd), don't appear to get along. Charles warns Ben to "keep away from her" (though we don't know who she is) and "I know what you did" in a tense backstage exchange. Ben collapses onstage shortly after the curtains open, appearing to be dead.

"I think people are going to love Paul," executive producer Dan Fogelman predicted to Entertainment Tonight. "It's going to be a great season."

Hoffman also suggested that Oliver might receive greater attention in the third season. I'm very excited to both lean into the theatrical side of New York City and also into Oliver and his world, he said, noting that season one was a little more focused on the emotional storyline for Mabel and Tim Kono and season two was a little more emotionally connected to Charles and his relationship with his father and himself.

Will there be more seasons than three?
Even though Only Murders hasn't received a fourth season renewal yet, there is a good chance that it will if it maintains its excellent ratings and favourable reviews. Although the show's creator, John Hoffman, has not addressed the show's future, he has suggested that season 2 may be important for it. He told that "I think there's something in there that can help us grow the show, maybe beyond the building, in future seasons."

Where can I watch Only Murders seasons 1 and 2?
You can watch the popular comedy-mystery on Hulu. The eagerly anticipated season 2 finale will be released on August 23. New episodes of season 2 are presently released every Tuesday.

As we prepare to (hopefully) accompany this great foursome on another excursion, hold onto your statement coats!
