Hannah Dominique E. John-Kamen is an English actress who was born on September 7, 1989. She is best known for her roles as Yalena "Dutch" Yardeen in the Syfy television series Killjoys (2015-2019), Ornela in the HBO series Game of Thrones' sixth season (2016), F'Nale Zandor in Steven Spielberg's film Ready Player One (2018), Ava Starr / Ghost in the Marvel Studios superhero films Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) and the upcoming Thunderbolts (2024), the title character in the Netflix mystery miniseries (2021).
Early years
Hannah Dominique E. John-Kamen was born on September 7, 1989, in Anlaby, Humberside, England, to a Norwegian fashion model mother and a Nigerian forensic psychologist father. She has two older siblings: a brother and a sister. She went to Kirk Ella Primary School, Hull Collegiate School, and the National Youth Theatre in London for her secondary education. She graduat from London's Central School of Speech and Drama in 2012.
John-Kamen began her career in 2011 as a voice actor for the video game Dark Souls. She later appeared in episodes of the television shows Misfits (2011), Black Mirror (2016), Whitechapel (2012), The Syndicate (2012), The Midnight Beast (2012), and The Hour (2012). (2012).
She played Viva in the Spice Girls-themed West End musical Viva Forever! from 11 December 2012 to 29 June 2013. The musical premiered to largely negative reviews at the Piccadilly Theatre. The Daily Mirror, however, praised John-performance Kamen's and called it a "shame" that she and the rest of the cast were "let down by a clichéd plot and leaden dialogue".
In 2015, John-Kamen starred in the SyFy series Killjoys. She appeared as a guest star on HBO's Game of Thrones in 2016. She appeared in the Black Mirror episode "Playtest" and an episode of The Tunnel that year. Kristen Tauer wrote about Hannah John-role Kamen's in Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One (2018): "While much of Ready Player One takes place in a virtual reality world, Hannah John-character Kamen's is unique in that she is rooted in reality throughout the film." In the superhero film Ant-Man and the Wasp, John-Kamen portrayed Ava Starr / Ghost. In 2021, John-Kamen played Jill Valentine in the reboot film Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City and starred in the action-thriller film SAS: Red Notice. She was cast as Red Sonja in Millennium Films' upcoming film of the same name, but she reportedly left the project for unknown reasons.
Personal life At the age of 18, John-Kamen moved to London and has lived there ever since. She enjoys playing the piano and has studied ballet, cabaret, jazz, salsa, and tap dance.
