Georgia Isobel Groome is an English actress who was born on February 11, 1992. She is best known for her roles in the movies London to Brighton (2006) and Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging (2008). (2008).
Early years
Groome was born in Nottingham on February 11, 1992, to publican and chef Paul Groome (1963-2009) and drama and vocal coach Fiona (née Tulloch) Watson. Swarkestone, Derbyshire, was her home. Alexandra, a dance teacher, and Eden, a dancer, are her two sisters. Groome, then nine years old, auditioned for and was cast in the touring stage production of Annie Get Your Gun. She went to her mother's performing arts school, Nottingham Television Workshop, Derby Youth Theatre, and Trent College to get her training.
Career
Groome made her acting debut in A Fish Out of Water, a 2001 television film. She went on to play an orphan in an episode of the short-lived TV show Dangerville.
Groome made her feature film debut at the age of 14 in the well-received British independent film London to Brighton in 2006, playing an 11-year-old runaway. She was also one of eight young adventurers on CBBC's Serious Amazon that year. Groome appeared in Elaine Wickham's short film My Mother in 2007.
Groome appeared in the comedy-horror film The Cottage in 2008. Her breakthrough role was as 14-year-old Georgia Nicolson, who was looking for a boyfriend alongside Aaron Johnson in the 2008 film Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging, for which she won Best Child Actor at the Buster International Children's Film Festival. She also had a small part in the horror film The Disappeared.
In 2009, she made her stage debut at the Royal Court Theatre in London in Tusk Tusk, a new play by Polly Stenham. She also appeared in the short Leaving Eva and an episode of The Bill that year. Groome made an appearance in an episode of the British television detective drama Lewis as well as the short Silent Things in 2010.
Groome appeared in two short films in 2011, The True Meaning of Love and Six Degrees. She also starred in Susan Jacobson's The Holding and The Great Ghost Rescue, a film based on Eva Ibbotson's book of the same name.
She co-starred with Stephen Dillane in Papadopoulos & Sons as snobbish fashion victim Katie. On April 5, 2013, Cineworld released the film in the United Kingdom.
Personal life
Groome has been married to actor Rupert Grint since 2011. Wednesday, their daughter, is due in May 2020.
