Erina Mano (, Mano Erina, born April 11, 1991) is a Japanese idol singer and actress who used to be a member of Hello! Project. She started as a trainee at Hello Pro Egg in 2006. She joined the Hello! Project futsal team Gatas Brilhantes H.P. and its musical group Ongaku Gatas in 2007. She began her solo music career on March 29, 2008, under the management and promotion of J.P Room. She remained with Hello! Project until 2013, and is now involved in solo music projects as well as film and television acting.

Life and work

2008

Mano Erina became a Hello! Pro Egg in 2006 after clearing the Up-Front Group "Egg" Audition. She was one of six Hello! Pro Egg members added to Ongaku Gatas in 2007 and became a reserve player for the Gatas Brilhantes H.P. team. On March 2, 2008, she graduated from Ongaku Gatas, and on March 29, 2008, she made her solo debut with Hello! Pro Egg. "Manopiano," her debut independent, was published on June 29, 2008. Beginning in August 2008, she has served as the opening act for several of her Senpai's concerts (Natsumi Abe, Morning Musume, Berryz Kobo, and Cute).

2009

Mano's solo work inside Hello! Project primarily features her playing the piano sections of her musical releases and giving the vocal and piano parts of her songs while performing in concerts and at live events, despite having taken piano training since kindergarten. Mano released three singles on his own label in 2008.

On March 18, 2009, she made her debut with the track "Otome no Inori" on the major label Hachama. On the first day of release, it peaked at number three on the Oricon charts and peaked at number five on the weekly chart. Erina was introduced as one among the members of the new Pucchi Moni in 2009. KAN typically composes Mano's songs. In an April 2009 video comment, Aya Matsuura stated that she "...needs to be the best singer in H!P, and in order to do that, she'll need to be a better singer than Ai Takahashi."

2010

Mano, S/mileage, and Morning Musume will appear in the CS-Fuji TV-TWO dorama Half Esper, which will premiere in January 2010. Mano's character is a half-trained esper who fled the covert government esper research organisation known as Kokueken without fully controlling her magical abilities. In addition, the TBS drama Mano Spy, in which Mano plays herself as an undercover agent, will premiere in 2010. She is sent to Japan as a spy for the Queen of the United Kingdom, but she ends up passing an idol audition, making her spying tasks difficult. "Matsuge no Saki ni Kimi ga Iru" (from Mano's first album) serves as the show's theme song. The show will premiere on the internet on January 26 and will air on BS-TBS on February 27.

She also appeared in the new drama DEATH GAME PARK.

Mano made her US debut in Los Angeles on July 1, 2010. The international premiere of Kai-Ki: Tales of Terror from Tokyo, a Japanese horror film in which she starred, took place at Club Nokia. She also performed a short mini-concert, a mini-Q&A, and an autograph session for the event's attendees.

2011

Morning Musume 9th generation member Sayashi Riho's "Riho-Deli" radio show succeeded Mano Erina's "Mano-Deli" in 2011. Mano was also cast in a short film named "Miyuki's Wind Bell" in 2011.

In July, she made a public appearance in South Korea to attend the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival, where her film will be filmed.

2012

On April 18, it was revealed that Mano, Yajima Maimi, Suzuki Airi, and Okai Chisato would feature in Theatre In The Round, a new stage production. It was revealed on November 30 that she would be joining the M-Line fanclub in March 2013.

2013

On February 19, it was revealed that she would be appearing in the TV Tokyo drama Minna! ESPer Dayo!. On February 23, she graduated from Hello! Project and launched the photobook Mano na no. On July 25, it was reported that she would star in Nijushi no Hitomi, her first prime time drama. Mano was featured on the cover of Nini-Funi magazine on August 18. Her management revealed on December 6 that she would star in the upcoming drama Shark in January 2014. with Johnnies Jr.

2014

Mano gave her first concert since graduating from Hello! Project1 in June 2014, titled "Again Live House de Moetsukiyou!"

Personal life

On July 16, 2018, she married footballer Gaku Shibasaki.

Excursions outside of Japan

She had her first promotional appearance outside of Japan on July 1, 2010, at Club Nokia in Los Angeles for her film debut in Kai-Ki: Tales of Horror. Mano performed two songs before the screening and met with fans for a Q&A and autograph session. She made her second performance outside of Japan in South Korea in July 2011.
