Erica Jennifer Fernandes is an Indian model and actress who appears on Indian television and in cinema. Her success came when she made her television debut as Dr. Sonakshi Bose in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi. Erica has also appeared in several South Indian films, including Ninnindale and Galipatam. Erica is also well-known for playing Prerna Sharma in Kasautii Zindagii Kay.
Erica was born in Mumbai to Konkani Mangalorean Catholic parents Ralph Fernandes and Lavina Fernandes. She attended Holy Cross High School in Kurla and Sies College Of Arts, Science, and Commerce in Sion for her Pre-Degree Course. She had enrolled in a BA program at St Andrew's College in Bandra. She later dropped out of school to pursue a modeling career.

She has always wanted to be a model since she was a youngster, and she was named "Bombay Times Fresh Face", "Pantaloons Femina Miss Fresh Face 2011", and "Pantaloons Femina Miss Maharashtra" in 2010 and 2011, respectively.
Success and début in film (2013–2015)
When Sasi was casting for Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu, he saw images of her in Meera Kathiravan's office, where she was shooting another film. In the film, Sasi cast her as a software engineer with Bharath, who plays her love interest. Because her previous films were delayed, Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu became her first release. Ninnindale, in which she co-starred with Puneeth Rajkumar, was her Kannada debut in 2014. Babloo Happy Hai, directed by Nila Madhab Panda, was her Hindi debut.
She was cast as the lead in the multilingual Virattu/Dega, starring newcomer Sujiv, the director's son. Virattu was eventually launched in February 2014. Dega, the Telugu translation, was delayed until late 2014, and Galipatam became her first Telugu release. Critics gave the picture positive reviews, noting that Erica "does a good job" and "demonstrates maturity." She starred in the Kannada film Buguri in 2015.
TV debut, breakthrough, and success (2016–2020)
Fernandes made her television debut in 2016 with Sony TV's Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, playing Dr. Sonakshi Bose opposite Shaheer Sheikh. Her onscreen connection with Shaheer Sheikh was lauded on the new age show.
Vizhithiru, her long-awaited film with Kathiravan, was released on October 6, 2017 and starred Krishna, Venkat Prabhu, and Sara Arjun.
She played Prerna Sharma in StarPlus' Kasautii Zindagii Kay from 2018 to 2020, partnering Parth Samthaan.

Fernandes played Dr. Sonakshi Bose opposite Shaheer Sheikh in the third season of Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi: Nayi Kahaani in 2021.
She is now hosting Emirates Draw, a game show in Dubai that is live streamed on YouTube, Facebook, and the Emirates Draw website.
