Biography

Nagoya is where Takei was born. She announced to her parents on her first day of junior high school that she would become a model within three years. In 2006, she competed in the 11th Japan Bishjo Contest and won not one, but two awards: the Model Division Award and the Multi-Media Award.

She then made her modeling debut in the November 2006 issue of Seventeen, landing her first job in the entertainment sector. In February 2007, she became an exclusive model for the magazine, and her first solo cover appeared in the 15 February edition.

She became the image character for "Beamie," an SNS website frequented by roughly 5,500 celebrities, in September 2010. In November of the same year, she became the youngest person in ever to receive The Men's Fashion Unity's "Best Dresser Award," which has been given since 1972.

She made her debut in the Fuji TV drama series Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta in January 2011. She was chosen after winning an audition in which eight hundred people participated to play a major character in the drama's quasi-leading role. In April, she had her first starring role in the TV Asahi drama serial Asuko March!.

She earned the "Best Smile of the Year" award in November and became the first Japanese person to be signed by the Italian luxury goods brand Gucci in December.

She made her debut as a singer on December 12, 2011, with the release of the single "Koisuru Kimochi" through Universal Japan. The ballad was written for her by Takuro of Glay, who declared himself a huge lover of Takei.

After 5 years and 9 months as a Seventeen model, she graduated in August 2012.
