The 43-year-old musician, who has two children, Miles, 4, and Luna, 6, with his model wife of nine years, acknowledged he was "more selfish" in the beginning.

He admitted as much on the podcast "On Purpose with Jay Shetty," "I guess I was more selfish then. I wasn't a terrific partner when we first started dating.

"Despite the fact that I was smitten with her and eager to spend time with her. I remained self-centered. I wasn't quite ready to be the dedicated partner that I am today when I was in my mid-20s.

John described how their relationship is currently in a much better place.
Added him: "When you truly realise how much you love someone and want to make things work with them, you must make the decision, "I'm going to do the things that I need to do to be a good partner in this relationship. "
And as a result of it, I've simply developed personally. When you stop being so egotistical and consider more than just the pleasure and delight you derive from a situation, you also consider your responsibility and commitment in that circumstance.

"I believe you simply mature and grow. I believe that a portion of it is just a matter of time. To change into the person you want to be, it takes time.

After losing their son Jack to an abortion at 20 weeks in 2020, the pair had a difficult time, and 36-year-old star Chrissy, who is presently pregnant, required a "medical intervention" to preserve her own life.

John previously acknowledged that he is still struggling to accept their loss.

He stated: "We won't ever be able to fully fill the void in our hearts. That is a characteristic of both being human and living.

The objective is to learn to live with the suffering we have encountered rather than trying to make it go away.
