Dylan OBrien Wiki, Age, Biography, Height, Girlfriend, Family, Images, And More
Dylan Rhodes is a musician. O'Brien is an American actor who was born on August 26, 1991. Stiles Stilinski on the MTV supernatural drama Teen Wolf (2011-2017), where he was a series regular for all six seasons. He achieved further prominence for his lead role of Thomas in the Maze Runner science fiction film trilogy (2014-2018), which led to more film appearances. He portrayed Caleb Holloway, a survivor of the Deepwater Horizon explosion, in the disaster film Deepwater Horizon (2016), fictional counter-terrorist Mitch Rapp in the action thriller American Assassin (2017), and the title character in the Transformers film Bumblebee (2018). He also starred in the adventure film Love and Monsters (2020).
O'Brien was born in New York City, the son of former actress Lisa (née Rhodes), who ran an acting school, and camera operator Patrick O'Brien. He grew up in Springfield Township, New Jersey, until the age of twelve, when he moved to Hermosa Beach, California, with his family. He has Irish, Italian, English, and Spanish ancestors. He considered pursuing sports broadcasting and possibly working for the New York Mets after graduating from Mira Costa High School in 2009.
O'Brien began uploading original videos to his YouTube channel when he was 14 years old. A local producer and director approached him during his senior year of high school about working on a web series. O'Brien met an actor who introduced him to a manager while working on the show. O'Brien later abandoned his plans to attend Syracuse University as a sports broadcasting major in order to pursue acting.
O'Brien produced, directed, and starred in a number of short comedy films before beginning his acting career, which he released on his personal YouTube channel. He also played drums for the indie rock band Slow Kids at Play.
O'Brien got his big break as one of the main characters in MTV's Teen Wolf, a show loosely based on the 1985 film. He was supposed to play Scott, but after reading the script, he decided to audition for Stiles instead. He was cast after four auditions and began playing the role in 2010.
O'Brien first appeared on screen in the entirely improvised independent comedy film High Road in 2011. The next year, he starred in the romantic comedy The First Time.
While on leave from Teen Wolf, he co-starred in the comedy film The Internship in 2013, and the following summer, he filmed The Maze Runner (2014), playing the lead role of Thomas. He was named one of the 15 Breakout Stars to Watch in 2014 by Yahoo! Movies. On September 18, 2015, he returned to the role of Thomas in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials.
O'Brien was seriously injured on set in March 2016 while filming a stunt for Maze Runner: The Death Cure. He was wearing a harness on top of a moving vehicle when he was unexpectedly yanked off by another vehicle. He suffered facial fractures, a concussion, and brain trauma. He later stated that the accident "broke most of the right side of his face," and that he had reconstructive facial surgery. After months of recuperation, he began filming other projects, and his March 2017 return to The Death Cure set marked his full recovery. The film was released on January 26, 2018.
In 2016, he starred in Deepwater Horizon, a disaster thriller-drama based on the 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion. He appeared in the 2017 action thriller American Assassin as the titular character Mitch Rapp, and in 2018 he voiced the CGI title character in the Transformers spin-off film Bumblebee.
In 2019, he appeared as a guest star in the comedy sci-fi anthology series Weird City. He appeared in the mystery thriller Flashback (shot in 2018) and the post-apocalyptic road trip film Love and Monsters in 2020.
He was cast in The Outfit in February 2021, and filming wrapped in April 2021. He was cast in Not Okay in August 2021, and filming wrapped in September 2021. In August, he was also cast in The Vanishings at Caddo Lake, which was first reported by Discussing Film and later confirmed by Deadline Hollywood for an October 2021 release. He was announced as a guest star in season 11 of Curb Your Enthusiasm in October 2021. O'Brien co-starred in Taylor Swift's short film All Too Well with Sadie Sink on November 12, 2021. On Swift's tenth studio album, Midnights, he was credited as a drummer on the track "Snow on the Beach" (2022).
