Family, upbringing, and schooling
Deependra Singh, also called Chinnu (nickname), was born on July 25, 1997, in Nainpur, Madhya Pradesh. He pursued education at Gyan Jyoti Higher Secondary English Medium School in Nainpur (his hometown). After completing school education, the town boy joined college, where he joined a BSc course. The college's name is unidentified. His zodiac sign is Pisces.
He is the son of Mr. Narayan Singh, who is a respected government employee, and Mrs. Nayan Tara Singh, a responsible and lovely housewife. His brother, Suryansh Singh, is a student. Deependra’s family members have always been supportive and gentle with him.
Career-Life Before Breathing In Mumbai
When he was a kid, he used to watch the Laughter Challenge show wherein artists were doing mimicry. That’s where it touched his heart and arose a strong wish to become a mime artist. This way, Deependra’s journey to become a mimicker go ahead. A boy mimicked Sunny Deol's accent for the first time. On the other hand, he was too fond of playing cricket and suddenly wanted to be a professional cricketer and therefore kicked off practicing.
He was chosen for playing cricket but couldn’t go there because of his young age (he was in 11th grade at that time). The multitasking guy was also fervent about dancing, and hence he gave an audition for DID (Dance India Dance Show), but he has not been selected.
Later, his father sent him Kota for the preparation of medical entrance exams because his family wanted him to be a doctor. Although Deependra was good at biology, he was not that good at physics and chemistry. The spark to become a mimicker didn’t pause here. Around 200 students appreciated him in Kota for his miming. He was praised for his dance performance in an audition conducted in Kota.
The result for his entrance exam was declared and he qualified, but didn’t score well. If he had secured the higher marks, he would have enrolled at a government medical college. His financial condition was not upright, hence he couldn’t get admission to any private college. He then reached home, where he again started preparing for the entrance exams. And this time he failed.
Occupied With Challenges In Mumbai
Finally, in 2019, he reached Mumbai to become a mime artist. There he met a brother of a distant relative who was already working in the film industry. Both of them (Deependra and his cousin) took a ride on a scooty and explored all the studios in Mumbai. After one month, he came to his hometown. Then again, he reached the city of dreams - Mumbai, where he got one room that was also in share.
He was new in the city and met new roommates. He got scared about how he would manage all these things because the lifestyle of the city was totally different from that of his town. The guy was from a small town. However, later, his worry turned into normality because his roommates introduced him to the Mumbai lifestyle and shared lots of experiences with him.
He then joined an acting class to be the best at mimicking. Meanwhile, he used to go to a dubbing studio to promote his skills and get work. Once in a studio, he shared his portfolio and got a chance to give voice to the one mispronounced line. He was later hired by Balaji Tele Films to record the voice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for which he received one thousand rupees (his first pay). Following this, the boy started earning by working as a background dancer – one in a Marathi film and the other one in an album song.
The boy used to earn 2000 to 2500 rupees per day from background dancing. At the same time, he used to create and post mimicry videos on YouTube and Instagram, but still did not get that much response. Consequently, those videos didn’t go viral even after getting support and reach from his buddies.
Many production houses were demanding the semi-known actor, but Deependra was not. In one of his videos, he dubbed the voices of some celebrities inspired by Dr. Sanket Bhosale, and that video went viral. His channel embraced 50k followers on Tik Tok. Again, his bad time came. Tik Tok was banned in India, but Deependra didn’t lose hope.
He continued creating and posting reels on Instagram and YouTube from 2020 to 2022. One or two videos have been included in the trending list. The meme "Choti Bacchi ho kya" (created by Deependra) went viral after 7 to 8 months, but the story remained the same. He didn’t get any recognition.
