Chris Pratt enters the race for L.A. mayor as the 2022 midterm elections get underway.

The 2022 midterm elections have come and gone, and so have some of the biggest personalities in entertainment. Chris Pratt, Norman Lear, and Kerry Washington are among the celebrities endorsing candidates Rep. Karen Bass or billionaire Rick Caruso for the position of mayor of Los Angeles on Twitter and Instagram, respectively.
On Tuesday, hours before voting began, "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor Pratt shared his choice in an Instagram story.

"Normally, I don't back political candidates. However, there's too much to lose in this race "Fox News claimed that he wrote. "I strongly advise you to support @rickcarusola if you live in Los Angeles. A builder, he is. He is a skilled finisher. He is the best choice for our city."

Pratt is one of the most recent Hollywood celebrities to support the property developer. He joins celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Snoop Dogg, Kim Kardashian, Ted Sarandos, the CEO of Netflix, and Katy Perry who previously endorsed the businessman for mayor during the primary elections in May.

Perry published a selfie on Instagram on Monday with her electronic ballot, in which she had chosen Caruso for mayor of Los Angeles. She also expressed support for Measure 28.

She captioned her photo, "I am voting for a multitude of reasons (see the news), but in particular since Los Angeles is a hot mess at the moment."

The singer of "Dark Horse" had previously faced criticism for endorsing Caruso's appeal for abortion rights in July. Perry was criticised on Twitter for endorsing a candidate who had a history of supporting politicians and organisations opposed to abortion.

In wake of the election, Mario Lopez, Paris Hilton, music executive Scooter Braun, Jessica Alba, Lisa Vanderpump, and Maria Shriver all proclaimed their support for Caruso.
Rep. Bass, on the other hand, has the endorsement of celebrities like Rosario Dawson, Mark Hamill, Yvette Nicole Brown, and more. Legendary television personality Norman Lear supported Bass on Monday in a video and Twitter thread.

The one genuine, steadfastly pro-choice Democrat who shares our views, according to Lear, 100, is Karen Bass. She is the only applicant in the running who has experience doing challenging tasks.
With "actual ideas — not just things that sound nice — to solve homelessness and make LA safer and more affordable," he continued, Bass is the "leader" Los Angeles needs.

The "She-Hulk" star Jameela Jamil claimed on Instagram that while she might not agree with all of Bass' political views, the mayoral candidate "is a legitimate politician."

She said, "It's simply astounding that she has managed to fight Caruso off this long without the funding he has in his own bloody bank account to market himself," before criticising Elon Musk and other billionaires who "don't live in the real world."

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Chelsea Handler, Alfre Woodard, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Alyssa Milano, who are all supporting Bass, are also involved.
