Cast and Character Guide for Season 6 of The Rookie

Cast and Character Guide for Season 6 of The Rookie

Season 6 of the long-running ABC procedural "The Rookie" has arrived, and with it comes the show's 100th episode. Several major cast changes have occurred throughout the years on "The Rookie," as is to be expected for any show that has been airing for that long, particularly one with such high stakes.

Nathan Fillion stars in "The Rookie," an LAPD drama that debuted in 2018, about a guy from a small town who becomes the department's oldest rookie. There have been several promotions, tragic deaths, and rookies joining the fray in the years afterwards.

What follows is a complete cast list for Season 6 of "The Rookie" in case you were wondering who would be joining the Los Angeles Police Department's Mid-Wilshire Patrol Division.

(John Nolan)—Nathan Fillion

As a showrunner, Nathan Fillion is well-versed. John Nolan, played by the "Firefly" and "Castle" actor, undergoes a radical transformation and becomes the oldest rookie in the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) when he is in his 40s. Fillion has been in several James Gunn films, including "Slither," "Super," "The Suicide Squad," and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3," in addition to his many leading TV roles. "Serenity," the sequel to "Firefly," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Santa Clarita Diet," and "A Series of Unfortunate Events" are among his previous roles.

Lucy Chen, played by Melissa O'Neil

A fellow rookie in John’s class, Lucy Chen has proven to be a determined and motivated cop with a desire for justice, first under the direction of her training officer, Tim Bradford. After winning Season 3 of "Canadian Idol," actress and singer O'Neil went on to star in "Dark Matter," as well as guest star on "iZombie" and "Condor."

Jeremy Winter in the role of Tigger

As a training officer, we all learned to know Tim Bradford as strict, aggressive, and demanding. As Chen learned from personal experience, though, Bradford is really rather kind and generous at heart, despite his cold exterior. In addition to her 400+ episodes as Rex on "Days of Our Lives," Winter has been in "Rosewood," "The Mentalist," "The Ugly Truth," and "Brothers & Sisters."

Gary Oldman in the role of Wade Grey

Sergeant Wade Grey is an experienced police officer who provides his team with moral guidance, direction, and, at times, a metaphorical slap in the face when needed. Similarly, Jones has been in over a hundred films and television shows as a character actor, including "Event Horizon," "Godzilla," "Judging Amy," "Santa Clarita Diet," "Girlfriends," "The Sarah Connor Chronicles," "American Horror Story," "Narcos," and "Criminal Minds."

Cast member Alyssa Diaz portrays Ana Lopez

Alyssa Diaz is a driven and determined member of the Los Angeles Police Department's team; she is a former training officer turned investigator. Alyssa and Wesley are married, and they welcomed a daughter into the world in the Season 5 finale—the second of their two children. Lopez has been in several films and TV shows, including "Ray Donovan," "Narcos: Mexico," "Army Wives," "Frequency," and the animated feature "Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two," where she voiced Renee Montoya.

Lawrence Fishburne portrays Wesley Evers

Wesley Evers is a married man with two children; he was a defense attorney before becoming an assistant district attorney in Season 5. His wife is Detective Lopez. Ashmore has starred as Ice Man/Bobby Drake in the "X-Men" movies and, more lately, as Lamplighter in "The Boys." "The Following," "Frozen" (2010), "The Ruins," and "Animorphs" are among the previous credits.

Nyla Harper, played by Mekia Cox

Although she had a "golden ticket" that would have given her unlimited opportunities within the force, former undercover agent Nyla Harper decided to go back to patrol and become a training officer. In Season 2, she became a member of the Mid-Wilshire Division and began training Nolan and Aaron Thorsen. In Season 5, she resumed her work as a detective. Among Cox's prior series credits are "90210," "Secrets and Lies," "Once Upon a Time," and "Chicago Med" (2009).

Bailey Nune's Jenna Dewan

Bailey, a firefighter for the Los Angeles Fire Department, first appeared in Season 3 and finally proposed to Nolan in Season 5, marking their impending marriage. Although she is most recognized for her role in the original "Step Up" film, Dewan has been in several other films and television shows, including "American Horror Story," "Super Girl," "Superman & Lois," "The Resident," and "Witches of East End."

Aaron Thorsen opposite Tru Valentino

Because he is the son of two well-known rappers, Officer Aaron Thorsen grew up in a wealthy family. He was a rookie when he joined Mid-Wilshire in Season 4, and he was trained by both Nyla Harper and John Nolan. When the squad was ambushed at the end of Season 5, Aaron was shot and seriously wounded. Voiceovers take up the majority of Valentino's resume. His most prominent credits include "Spidey and His Amazing Friends," "Fast & Furious Spy Racers," "Beavis & Butt-Head," and "Madagascar: A Little Wild."

"Celina Juarez" portrayed by Lisseth Chavez

Celina Juarez, a native Angeleno who puts her faith in gut feelings and superstitions, is a newcomer to the squad who was sent to Mid-Wilshire in Season 4 under the tutelage of John Nolan. "Legends of Tomorrow," "Chicago P.D.," "The Fosters," and "The OA" are among Chavez's past roles.

Guests on "The Rookie" in Season 6

Season One Premiere: "Strike Back"

Check out Kristian Bruun as "Mystery Man" on "The Rookie" Season 6, premiering Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC. Hulu will then make the new episodes streamable one day after they air.
