Blake Lively Wiki, Age, Biography, Height, Husband, Family, Images, And More

An American actress named Blake Ellender Lively (Brown) was born on August 25, 1987. Lively, a Los Angeles native who made her acting debut in his 1998 film Sandman, is the daughter of actor Ernie Lively. She played Bridget Vreeland in the critically acclaimed films The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005) and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (2008). She co-starred with Justin Long in the comedy Accepted (2006), and from 2007 to 2012, she portrayed Serena van der Woodsen in the CW teen drama television series Gossip Girl, which helped her achieve fame and wide recognition.

She has acted in romantic comedies including The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (2009) and New York, I Love You (2008). Lively debuted in Green Lantern (2011) alongside her future husband Ryan Reynolds after starring opposite Ben Affleck in the criminal drama The Town (2010). She appeared in the cast as a whole in Savages (2012) and won praise for her portrayal of the lead role in the romantic fantasy The Age of Adaline (2015). She acted in the psychological drama All I See Is You (2016) and the survivor horror movie The Shallows (2016). In the commercially successful A Simple Favor (2018) and the critically acclaimed The Rhythm Section (2020), she co-starred with Anna Kendrick.

Early Years

Blake Ellender Brown, better known as Lively, was born on August 25, 1987, in the Tarzana section of Los Angeles, California. Her father, Ernie Lively, was an actor, and her mother, Elaine, worked as a talent scout. Her grandmother's brother inspired the name "Lively" for her. She has three half-siblings from her mother's previous marriage: Lori, Robyn, and Jason, as well as an elder brother named Eric. Her siblings and dad have all held jobs in the entertainment business.

Because her parents did not want to leave her with a babysitter, Lively attended acting classes with them as a child. She claimed that learning the "drills" and gaining confidence as she grew older and started working in the profession came from watching her parents teach. When she was 10 years old, Lively made her acting debut in the father-directed movie Sandman from 1998. She calls it a "bit part" and explains it as such. She planned to enroll in Stanford University and initially had little interest in acting.

She graduated in 2005 from Burbank High School, where she was a cheerleader, a part of the winning chorus, and the class president. In the summer, her older brother requested that his talent agent send her to many auditions. In The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005), she was subsequently cast as Bridget, and between her junior and senior years of high school, she recorded her sequences.

Career

2005–2006: career start-up

In 2005, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was published. Lively was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for "Choice Movie Breakout - Female" because of her performance. Lively and Justin Long co-starred in the horror movie Accepted in 2006, and Lively also played supporting roles in Simon Says. Although Accepted did not receive favorable reviews from critics, Lively's performance did, and Hollywood Life gave her a "Breakthrough Award." Lively played Anabelle, a bulimic girl who aspired to win a beauty pageant, in the 2007 film Elvis and Anabelle. Lively remarked that she had "shed serious weight" for her height in order to get into character for the part. She claimed that because eating is "my No. 1 love in life," the procedure was challenging for her. She received appreciation for her work in the movie and was given credit for playing a "breakthrough role" by MovieLine.com.

Gossip Girl, 2007–2012

The CW's Gossip Girl, which debuted in September 2007 and was based on the Cecily von Ziegesar novel series of the same name, cast Lively in the lead role. Lively already planned to decline the role and enroll in college, but she was told she could do so while filming the show (she later said, "This is advice to anyone: when they say, 'We promise, but we can't put it in writing,' there's a reason they can't put it in writing"). Up to the show's cancellation in 2012, she portrayed Serena van der Woodsen in the teen drama. In the November 2007 issue of CosmoGirl, she appeared on the cover and talked about her high school years and career before Gossip Girl.

Lively returned to the role of Bridget in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 in 2008. Like the first movie, Lively's performance received favorable reviews from critics. The movie had made over $44 million at the box office as of November 2008. She starred in the 2009 romantic comedy New York, I Love You, a follow-up to the 2006 film Paris, je t'aime, as Gabrielle DiMarco. The movie didn't do well at the box office despite favorable reviews from critics.

Lively received praise from critics for her portrayal of the title character's younger self in The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (2009). The Brisbane Times' Paul Byrnes referred to Lively's performance as "sensational" in his review of the movie. For her part as Kristina "Kris" Coughlin in the 2010 movie The Town, which is based on Chuck Hogan's book Prince of Thieves, Lively started filming her sequences in October 2009. On September 17, 2010, the movie, which Ben Affleck both directed and acted in, was released in America. According to Variety's review of her portrayal, Lively was "almost unrecognizable has fierce, pained moments as the moll and single mother.. tossed aside." Lively and Jessica Alba starred in the "I Just Had Sex" music video by The Lonely Island in December of that year. In the June 2011 superhero movie Green Lantern, Lively portrayed Carol Ferris, the female lead and Hal Jordan's love interest. $219,851,172 was the total worldwide revenue for the movie. She was listed in the 2011 edition of Time magazine's annual list of 100 important people. She was also chosen the most attractive woman of 2011 by AskMen.com, and one of 2012's Most Beautiful at Every Age by People magazine.

She co-starred with Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson, Salma Hayek, and John Travolta in Oliver Stone's Savages in 2012. Lively took over as Ophelia after Jennifer Lawrence left the role to work on The Hunger Games. Lively's portrayal, according to HitFix film critic Drew McWeeny, was "smart and sad precisely because she plays O as such a broken, needy little soul." She was chosen to represent the new Gucci fragrance, Gucci Premiere, also in that year. She made an appearance in a brief fragrance commercial made by Nicolas Winding Refn.

Since 2013: A Film Career

Lively's debut major makeup campaign began when she was selected the new face of L'Oreal in October 2013. Alongside Michiel Huisman and Harrison Ford, Lively starred in The Age of Adaline (2015) as a woman who "stops aging after recovering from a near-fatal accident." With a $25 million production budget, the movie had a low box office haul of $65.7 million. The Atlantic cited Lively's "clipped delivery and coy restraint" as well as her "capable performance" within the emotional intensity of the film in saying that she "showed her potential as a leading lady" largely in the second half of the movie. Lively starred in The Shallows, a 2016 survival horror movie. It garnered favorable reviews, and critics appreciated Lively's portrayal. Additionally that year, Lively starred in the critically acclaimed romantic comedy Café Society directed by Woody Allen, which had its world premiere at the 69th Cannes Film Festival. Allen was "very empowering," Lively said, adding that it was "really cool" to work with a filmmaker who has accomplished so much because he knows precisely what he wants.

In the 2016 psychological thriller All I See is You, played by Lively and Jason Clarke, the film received mixed reviews upon its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Alongside Henry Golding and Anna Kendrick, Lively starred in the mystery-thriller A Simple Favor in 2018. The film was directed by Paul Feig. Lively's performance in the movie, which debuted on September 14, received positive reviews. She has her moments, many of them physically violent, and Lively's Emily is both repulsive and alluring, according to Variety. The Rhythm Section, the film version of the same-named Mark Burnell novel produced by Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson and directed by Reed Morano, featured Lively as the lead, a drug-addicted prostitute turned assassin. On January 31, 2020, Paramount Pictures released the movie. Lively's acting, according to Variety, "displays a realistic near-incompetence in the face of danger makes her relatable in ways very few cinematic assassins have ever been."

It was revealed in May 2021 that Lively would play the title role of Josie Schuller in Lady Killer. The music video for Taylor Swift's song "I Bet You Think About Me" with American singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton, which was released on November 15, 2021, from Swift's re-recorded album Red (Taylor's Version) (2021), marked Lively's debut in the director's chair. It was revealed in April 2022 that Lively will make her feature film debut directing an adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's comic novel Seconds, with Edgar Wright penning the screenplay and serving as producer. It was revealed in January 2023 that Lively would play the title role of Lily Bloom in the film adaption of Colleen Hoover's book It Ends with Us.
