American actress Ashley Greene Khoury was born on February 21, 1987. She is well-known for her role as Alice Cullen in the Twilight movie adaptations by Stephenie Meyer.

Early Life

Younger of two children, Greene was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on February 21, 1987. His parents are Joe Greene Sr., a former U.S. Marine who currently owns a concrete construction company, and Michele (née Tatum), an insurance company employee. She and her older brother, Joe, were raised in the Florida cities of Middleburg and Jacksonville. Prior to going to Samuel W. Wolfson High School in the tenth year, Greene attended University Christian School. At the age of 17, she relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting.

Career

She had previously intended to become a model, but was advised to focus on acting in commercials because she was too short (1.65 m) at 5 feet 5 inches to be a fashion model. She realised that she preferred acting over modelling after enrolling in a commercial and acting class and falling in love with it. Greene travelled to Los Angeles after finishing high school early in order to pursue an acting career.

She made cameo appearances early in her career on shows like Crossing Jordan and Punk'd. Greene's big break came in 2008 when she was chosen to play Alice Cullen in the movie adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's book series of the same name, The Twilight Saga.
