Ashleigh Monique Murray is an American actress and singer who was born on January 18, 1988. On the CW television series Riverdale, she played Josie McCoy, the lead singer of the band Josie and the Pussycats. In the Riverdale spin-off series Katy Keene, which debuted on The CW in 2020, Murray played this part once more.

Career

In 2016, Murray was chosen to play Josie McCoy, "a gorgeous, snobby, and ambitious girl who is the lead singer for the well-known band Josie and the Pussycats," as a series regular on The CW's teen drama Riverdale. Murray joined the cast in 2017, and he remained a part of it through 2019. Murray was confirmed to reprise her role as Josie McCoy in the main cast of the Riverdale spin-off pilot, Katy Keene, in February 2019. The CW ordered Katy Keene to a series in May 2019.Murray starred, and played the title role, in the Netflix movie Deidra & Laney Rob a Train in 2017. The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2017. It was released on March 17, 2017, by Netflix.

Murray was revealed to have joined the cast of Valley Girl, an MGM musical adaptation of the 1983 movie, as Loryn in 2017.
