As they announce they are expecting a rainbow baby, Brian McKnight calls his wife Leilani his hero.

After suffering a painful loss earlier this year, Brian McKnight is excited to be growing his family.

In an Instagram grid collage posted on Thursday that featured the "Back At One" singer caressing his wife Leilani's growing baby belly, McKnight disclosed that he and his wife are expecting another child.

The 53-year-old shared three further images of himself holding Leilani's growing baby bump while the two are standing in all-white attire. He added that the couple is "ecstatic" to announce their impending arrival.

He added a note on each photo with the phrase, "We are ECSTATIC to finally announce BABY MCKNIGHT is arriving soon!!!!!!!," referring to Leilani as "my everything, my hero, and my purpose for living."

He ended the captions with, "I'm so in love with you darling.

Leilani shared the information on her page and wrote, "Our kid is the most blessed child because you are his father, my rock, the ideal husband and father. I will always be in love with you, Boopy."
The musician revealed in a flurry of Instagram photos on Mother's Day that he and Leilani, who share son Jack and daughter Julia, had recently endured a pregnancy loss. The couple started dating in 2014 and was married hours before the clock struck midnight on December 31, 2017.

He added, "I adore this image. It was our last family photograph before the birth of our son Kekoa Matteo," with a photo of the couple with their children in which Leilani is sporting a pregnancy belly.

He referred to Leilani as the "best example of a mother I've ever seen" and mentioned that Kekoa was due on Mother's Day.

McKnight continued, praising the "courage to deal with the hardest loss we've ever dealt with in our lives has been truly remarkable," adding, "I know how hard it is for him not to be here in the flesh with us, but I know he is with us just like Julia and Jack are, as shining examples of your exceptional motherhood."

All the prenatal milestones were remembered by the musician, who lamented how they tragically came to an end when she witnessed Kekoa "take his last breath with him on your breast and both of you in my arms."

"Even though he was taken from us too young, I wouldn't trade the gift you gave me for anything in the world because it gave me the opportunity to understand what it's like to want and prepare to have a child formed out of love. We will always remember and love our kid, and he will live on forever in our hearts "Finally, he said. As the father of our three amazing children, I've never felt more pride than I do right now.

In addition, McKnight is the father of daughter Briana McKnight, 21, and sons Brian Jr. and Niko with his ex-wife Julie McKnight, to whom he was married from 1990 to 2003. The singer's relationship with his elder children is thought to have soured as of 2019.
