Anu Emmanuel (born March 28, 1996) is an American actress of Indian descent who appears in Telugu and Tamil films.
She made her acting debut in the 2016 Malayalam film Action Hero Biju. She made her Telugu debut in Majnu (2016) and has since appeared in films such as Kittu Unnadu Jagratha (2017), Oxygen, and Agnyaathavaasi (2018). Emmanuel has also appeared in Tamil films, beginning with the suspense thriller Thupparivaalan (2017).
Anu Emmanuel was born on March 28, 1996, in Chicago, Illinois, to a Malayali Catholic family. She is the daughter of Malayalam film producer Thankachan Emmanuel. Her family is from Dallas, Texas. She moved around the United States before settling in India to pursue her acting career. Reba Monica John, a Malayali actress, is her cousin.
Career
Emmanuel made her acting debut as the lead in Abrid Shine's Action Hero Biju, starring Nivin Pauly. She made her Telugu debut opposite Nani in Majnu. The film went on to become a box-office success. She was announced as the female lead in Oxygen at the time, alongside actor Gopichand in the lead. She made her Tamil debut in 2017 with Thupparivaalan, co-starring Vishal.
In 2018, she co-starred in Agnyaathavaasi with Pawan Kalyan. She co-starred in Shailaja Reddy Alludu with Naga Chaitanya and Ramya Krishna. She appeared in Geetha Govindam as a cameo. She appeared in her second Tamil film, Namma Veetu Pillai, opposite Sivakarthikeyan, which was a box office success.
