Ankita Lokhande Jain (born December 19, 1984) is an Indian actress who made her debut on Zee TV in an award-winning role in Balaji Telefilms' daily show Pavitra Rishta. She was one of television's highest-paid actors until she left in 2018 to pursue a career in movies. Lokhande has also appeared in Bollywood films such as Baaghi 3 and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

Life and work

Early life and professional career (1984–2005)

Lokhande was born in a Marathi family in Indore on December 19, 1984, to teacher Vandana Phadnis Lokhande and her father Shashikant Lokhande. She has two brothers, Sooraj and Arun, as well as a sister, Jyoti. She relocated to Mumbai in 2005 after graduation to pursue a profession in acting.

Ascension to stardom and personal life (2009–2016)

Lokhande landed the lead role of Archana in Ekta Kapoor's daily serial Pavitra Rishta after competing in India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj (2007-09). (2009–14).

She appeared in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4 and Comedy Circus, as well as an episode of Ek Thi Naayka.

In 2013, Pavitra Rishta took a generational leap, and Lokhande began playing Archana's granddaughter Ankita alongside her prior role as Archana till the series finished in 2014.

Lokhande co-starred in Pavitra Rishta with Sushant Singh Rajput, and they began dating in 2010. Rajput proposed to her in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhlaja 4 in 2010. The duo even discussed marrying each other in a 2016 interview. However, the pair split up the next year.

The premiere of a film and a web series (2017–2021)

After a two-year hiatus from acting and her divorce with Rajput, Lokhande was reportedly slated to make her film debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's historical drama Padmaavat. (2018). She did, however, leave the picture, stating that she was not prepared the film.

The next year, rumors circulated that she had been cast in Girish Malik's film Torbaaz alongside Sanjay Dutt. However, rumors were debunked when Malik confirmed that Lokhande will not be participating with the project.

In 2018, she confirmed that she would play Jhalkaribai, a warrior, in Krish and Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, an epic drama based on Rani Lakshmi Bai's life. The film had its theatrical release on the eve of Republic Day 2019 and performed exceptionally well at the box office, marking her first financial hit.

Lokhande then acted opposite Tiger Shroff, Shraddha Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh in Sajid Nadiadwala's action-packed production Baaghi 3 (2020), the third installment of the Baaghi trilogy, as Kapoor's elder sister married to Deshmukh's character. The film was released before to the closure of theaters in India because to the COVID-19 outbreak, which had an impact on box office performance.
In 2021, she co-starred with Shaheer Sheikh in the web series Pavitra Rishta 2.0 as Archana.

Marriage and beyond (2021–present)

In 2019, she declared her romance with businessman Vicky Jain. They will marry in Mumbai on December 14, 2021. In February 2022, she competed in StarPlus' Smart Jodi alongside her husband, Vicky Jain, and went on to win Season 1.

Ankita Lokhande is an Indian actress who rose to fame by playing the role of ‘Archana Deshmukh’ in the TV serial, “Pavitra Rishta.”

Ankita was born into a middle-class Marathi family residing in Indore; with no film background.

She was active in sports in her childhood and was a state-level badminton player.
