Amruta Khanvilkar, an Indian actress for both film and television, was born on November 23, 1984. She primarily appears in Hindi and Marathi movies. Khanvilkar started her career as a competitor on India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj in 2004. She had always wanted to be an actress in movies. Golmaal (2006) was her first Marathi movie, and Mumbai Salsa (2006) was her first Hindi movie. (2007). Commercial success followed with Saade Maade Teen (2007) and Phoonk. (2008).
Her Lavani dance performance of "Wajale Ki Bara" from the Marathi film Natarang helped her become well-known in 2010. She received plaudits for her portrayal in the critically acclaimed Katyar Kaljat Ghusali in 2015, and she was nominated for both the Maharashtra State Film Awards and the Marathi Filmfare Awards. Khanvilkar played minor parts in the well-known Hindi films Satyameva Jayate (2018), Malang (2018), and Raazi (2018). (2020). Early life
Khanvilkar was born to a Maharashtrian family in Mumbai in 1984. She attended the Karnataka High School in Pune and received her degree in commerce from the Marathwada Mitra Mandal College in Pune.
Career
Khanvilkar started her career in 2004 as a participant on Zee Cine Star ki Khoj, one of the earliest reality programs on Indian television. That same year, she also co-starred with Amitabh Bhattacharjee in the Hindi short film Saanjh, which was produced by the Film and Television Institute of India. She went on to make additional appearances in 2005 on the television programs Ada and Time Bomb 9/11, and she also won the first runner-up spot in the Marathi reality competition Eka Peksha Ek. (2007).
Khanvilkar made her acting debut in the 2006 Marathi comedy Golmaal, and audiences praised her work. She made her Hindi cinema debut in the 2007 movie Mumbai Salsa, playing Manjari Phadnis' nymphomaniacal flatmate. Soon after, she acted in the 2007 films Hattrick, Saade Maade Teen, and Gaiir. (2009). She worked with the filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma on two movies in 2008: Phoonk, a mature woman with a de-glamorized appearance based on superstition and black magic, and Contract, a youthful and joyful girl set against the backdrop of terrorism and infiltration. Her work received plaudits, and the movie was dubbed a box office smash. Later, she appeared in the follow-up, Phoonk 2. (2010).
She rose to fame in 2010 after singing the Bela Shende-sung song "Wajale Ki Bara" in Ravi Jadhav's movie Natarang. She played Paranajpe Bai, a Marathi teacher, in Sujay Dahake's 2011 film Shala, which was adapted from the same-titled novel by Milind Bokil. The movie had its New York Indian Film Festival premiere before going on to win the Silver Lotus Award at the 59th National Film Awards. After that, she acted as a dependable girlfriend in Arjun alongside Sachit Patil and Zakaas, two financially prosperous rural girls. The CineRockom International Film Festival awarded her Best Actress for her work in the musical movie Aayna ka Bayna (2012).
She played Shreyas Talpade's love interest in the superhero movie Baji in 2015. After that, she starred in Welcome Zindagi, a Marathi adaptation of the Bengali movie Hemlock Society and a dark comedy about life and death. Later same year, in Subodh Bhave's feature film Katyar Kaljat Ghusali, which was based on the play of the same name, she played Muslim girl Zareena, Khansaheb's daughter. Because of her praised work, Khanvilkar received her first Filmfare Marathi Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Katyar Kaljat Ghusali became one of the highest-grossing Marathi movies of all time after earning over 40 crores (US$6.24 million). She has also acted in the 2017 historical war movie Rangoon, the Marathi mystery One Way Ticket, and the Hindi drama Baaki Itihaas. (2016).
In 2018, Khanvilkar received praise for her work in Hindi-language projects. She portrays Alia Bhatt's Pakistani widowed sister-in-law Munira in Meghna Gulzar's Raazi. Her performance was appreciated by both critics and the general audience. Additionally, this was her first leading role in a Hindi movie in eight years. In Milap Zaveri's Satyameva Jayate, she played the lively and naughty wife opposite Manoj Bajpayee. She made her digital debut as Lady Serial Killer Lavina Birdie in the same year, costarring with Amit Sial in the web series Damaged for Hungama Play, in which she played an original and ground-breaking role. At first, she was hesitant to portray a fearless figure in front of the camera. She prepared for her role by reading various enigmatic texts. "Amruta probably took up a mighty challenge, but by the end of the show it is hard to imagine any other actor who could have played Lovina better," critics said of her portrayal of Lovina. Another person commented, "She portrays the deviant Lovina so effectively that for a split second you can't tell who the actor is from the character. She must navigate the entire emotional spectrum as part of her role, which is challenging, but she makes it look easy. It's encouraging to see tales like these being created and such skilled actors taking on parts like these. She had a fleeting appearance in the Marathi biographical drama film Ani... Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar, playing the part of Chandrakala, played by Sandhya Shantaram, from the Marathi movie Pinjra. (1972).
In Mohit Suri's action film Malang (2020), Khanvilkar plays the troubled Catholic wife of Michael Rodrigues, who is portrayed by Kunal Khemu. Several commentators praised Khanvilkar's performance, noting that she had fewer words but a more emotional character. The Marathi comedy Choricha Mamla was her other release of the year.
She appeared in the Marathi drama Well Done Baby (2021) the following year, which tells the story of a contemporary young couple trying to figure out the meaning of their relationship while also adjusting to the addition of a new member to their family. As a tragic Tamasha artist in Prasad Oak's Marathi musical love play Chandramukhi, which was adapted from the same-titled novel by Vishwas Patil, Khanvilkar received her first title role in 2022. She was Oak's first choice, but her role wasn't revealed until a 35-foot-tall cutout costumed as Chandra did so at the Royal Opera House. She underwent an eight-month training program to sharpen her language and diction while packing on more than 15 kg to fit the part. Her performance and the movie were both anticipated and financially successful. Khanvilkar is an actor who can do outstanding job if given a decent director, according to Shubham Kulkarni of koimoi.com, who credited her hard effort and her expressive eyes. Mihir Bhange of The Times of India called her "a surprise package" and said that although "her role is brief, she does complete justice to it." Her subsequent brief appearance was with Sharad Kelkar in the historical action picture Har Har Mahadev, which was made in all of India. She will compete in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 with choreographer Pratik Utekar, it was announced in July 2022. She placed ninth in the competition.
next projects In Satish Rajwade's romance drama Autograph - Ek Japun Thevavi Ashi Lovestory, Khanvilkar will next work alongside Ankush Chaudhari. She is starring opposite Rajat Kapoor in Hansal Mehta's Lootere on Disney+ Hotstar. She revealed a sports biopic on Lalita Shivaji Babar, an Indian long-distance runner from the Satara area, in honor of Republic Day.
Private life
On the sets of India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj, she met fellow participant Himmanshoo A. Malhotra, with whom she later fell in love. The pair tied the knot in Delhi on January 24, 2015, after ten years of dating. They both took home the trophy for Nach Baliye 7 in 2015.
