Alycia Debnam-Carey Wiki, Age, Biography, Height, Boyfriend, Family, Images, And More

Actress Alycia Jasmin Debnam-Carey was born in Australia on July 20, 1993. She is most known for playing the roles of Alicia Clark on the horror drama series Fear the Walking Dead (2015–2022) and Lexa on the dystopian science fiction series The 100 (2014–2016; 2020). She made her screen debut in the Australian short drama Martha's New Coat directed by Rachel Ward in 2003, and she later made her feature film debut in the 2014 American catastrophe movie Into the Storm. She made her directing debut in 2022 with the "Ofelia" episode of Fear the Walking Dead's seventh season.

Early Years

Debnam-Carey was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on July 20, 1993. Her father was a musician, and her mother Leone Carey was a writer for children's television. When they were little, Debnam-Carey and her brother would assist their mother in performing the scripted program segments. Debnam-Carey studied classical percussion for ten years in addition to acting when she was eight years old. She was a percussionist at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts. Debnam-Carey and over 40 other musicians created a piece in a two-week program in 2010 in collaboration with the Berlin Philharmonic, and they presented it at the Sydney Opera House. She earned the highest band in six Higher School Certificate subjects, including English Advanced, English Extension 1, Drama, Modern History, Music 2, and Visual Arts, and was recognized as a noteworthy achiever by the NSW Government in her last year of school. She got the Premier's Award for achieving a grade of 90 or above in more than 10 units, along with nominations for OnStage for her accomplishments in theater and HSC Encore for her accomplishments in music. Her decision to pursue acting led her to leave the Sydney Conservatorium of Music after she graduated from Newtown High School in 2011.

Career

2003–2013: The start of my career

At the age of 10, Debnam-Carey made her acting debut in Rachel Ward's critically acclaimed 2003 short-feature Martha's New Coat. She portrayed Lee in the Australian animated short film The Safe House, which was inspired on the Petrov Affair, and she made a guest appearance in the Australian drama series McLeod's Daughters in 2006. She had appearances in the 2008 television movie Dream Life and the short drama Jigsaw Girl. Debnam-Carey also had supporting parts in the 2011 short films The Branch and At the Tattooist (2010). She was cast in the unproduced Resistance pilot in 2010 and appeared in a Dance Academy episode as a guest star.
Debnam-Carey determined in her senior year of high school that she would move to the United States after graduating to study acting. At the age of 18, she started her career in Hollywood. She made an appearance in the six-part documentary Next Stop Hollywood (2013), which followed six Australian actors as they vied for parts in the American TV pilot season. Debnam-Carey was requested to attend an audition for an indie thriller film based in an Amish community after spending two weeks in Los Angeles and trying out for the part of a teenage Carrie Bradshaw for the CW series The Carrie Diaries. She tried for the network and made it onto the shortlist for The Carrie Diaries, but the network rejected her because they felt she was too young for the part. In the last week of the documentary, she accepted the main role in the thriller later known as The Devil's Hand, and she started filming in North Carolina. In November 2012, while still residing in Los Angeles, Debnam-Carey was named a Heath Ledger Scholarship Finalist.

The 100 and Fear the Walking Dead from 2014 to 2022
In the 2014 catastrophe movie Into the Storm, Debnam-Carey had a supporting part. She was then cast in the AMC series pilot Galyntine, which starred Peter Fonda and was executive produced by Ridley Scott, Greg Nicotero, and Jason Cahill. However, AMC ultimately decided not to order the pilot to series.
In episode six of the second season of The CW's dystopian drama The 100, which aired on December 3, 2014, Debnam-Carey made her acting debut as Lexa. A quick fan favorite, Lexa was Debnam-Carey's breakthrough role. The four starring characters for AMC's Fear the Walking Dead were revealed on December 1st, with Debnam-Carey playing Alicia Clark. The 100's creator Jason Rothenberg revealed that Debnam-Carey would be back for the third season at San Diego Comic-Con International in July 2015. She was able to film for both shows since AMC gave her two blocks of time to do so.
On August 23, 2015, Fear the Walking Dead made its debut. While promoting the series, Debnam-Carey appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on August 27 for the first time. For her roles in The 100 and Fear the Walking Dead, Debnam-Carey was named one of the 15 biggest TV discoveries of 2015 by The Wrap in December. Debnam-Carey drew praise for her performance as Lexa on The 100, winning the MTV Fandom Award for Fan Freakout of the Year and the E! Online TV Scoop Awards for Best Guest Star (as Lexa) and Female Breakout Star (for Lexa and Alicia Clark). She was highly praised for her portrayal in Fear the Walking Dead, where she was hailed as a breakout star. According to Forbes' Erik Kain, "Debnam-Carey is a superb actor. She was excellent in "The 100, but she's even better in Fear," which praised her for "elevating the show" with her performance in the third-season episode "This Land is Your Land." In the fourth season episode "Close Your Eyes," according to Laura Bradley of Vanity Fair, Debnam-Carey "delivered one of her best performances yet," and David Zapanta of Den of Geek called it "arguably a career-defining performance."
Debnam-Carey played Laura, the female lead, in the German suspense film Friend Request, which debuted on January 7, 2016, in that country. She was chosen to play Frances Campbell, the victim's younger sister, in the crime thriller A Violent Separation (2019) in October 2017. For her work in Fear the Walking Dead, she received nominations for the Saturn Awards in 2017 and 2018 for Best Performance by a Younger Actor in a Television Series. She made an appearance in The 100's season finale in 2020, playing a character who took on the appearance of Lexa to communicate.
It was stated in July 2021 that Fear the Walking Dead season seven episode director Debnam-Carey would make her debut in 2022. She oversaw the season's episode 11 ("Ofelia") direction. Debnam-Carey claimed that since since taking a film class in school, where she produced a short film, she has been interested in directing. She declared in May 2022 that the episode "Amina" from the seventh season would be her last for the show.

Present-day projects from 2022
In the seven-episode Amazon original series The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, which is based on Holly Ringland's best-selling book, Debnam-Carey will play Alice Hart alongside Sigourney Weaver. She will also play Emily in the eight-part psychological drama Saint X on Hulu, which is inspired on the same-named novel by Alexis Schaitkin and told across many timeframes and perspectives. According to reports, Greg Jardin and former Fear the Walking Dead co-star Colman Domingo's independent sci-fi thriller It's What's Inside will feature Debnam-Carey.
