Alison American actress Brie Schermerhorn was born on December 29, 1982. Her breakout role in the drama series Mad Men (2007–2015), which earned her a Screen Actors Guild Award, was that of Trudy Campbell. Her roles as Annie Edison in the NBC sitcom Community (2009–2015) and as Diane Nguyen in the animated comedy series BoJack Horseman (2014–2020) helped her become well-known. She was nominated for two Critics' Choice Awards and two Golden Globes for her performance as Ruth Wilder in the comedy-drama series GLOW (2017–2019).

Alison On December 29, 1982, in Hollywood, California, Brie Schermerhorn was born. Charles Terry Schermerhorn, her father, is a musician and independent entertainment journalist. Her mother, Joanne Brenner, works for the non-profit creche Para los Nios ("For the Children"). Lauren is the name of her elder sister. The mother of Brie is Jewish. Her father is of Dutch, English, and Scottish descent and was brought up as a Catholic. She occasionally went to a "Christian-Hindu hybrid church" called the Self-Realization Fellowship with her father while being reared by her split parents. South Pasadena High School had Brie graduate in 2001. She performed as a clown at children's birthday parties the summer before she entered college.
Brie earned a bachelor's degree in theatre from the California Institute of the Arts in 2005. A year of her studies were spent in Glasgow at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
Career
Brie started her performing career onstage at the Southern California Jewish Community Centre.[19] Her debut television appearance was in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana in 2006 as the inexperienced hairstylist Nina. She also won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for her role as Trudy Campbell in the AMC period drama series Mad Men (2007–2015).[20] The web series My Alibi, which aired from 2008 to 2009, went on to feature her as its star.
Brie received praise for her performance as Annie Edison on the NBC/Yahoo! View sitcom Community from 2009 to 2015. She received two nominations for the Entertainment Weekly Award and one for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Brie co-hosted an episode of Attack of the Show! in April 2010 and again in March 2011, and she also made an appearance on Web Soup. In the 2010 comedy Montana Amazon, she made an appearance. Brie debuted at number 99 on Maxim magazine's 2010 Hot 100 list and at number 49 on their 2011 list. In 2013, FHM readers ranked her as the 57th sexiest woman in the world. She was ranked as the second most attractive woman in the world in 2014 by AskMen users.
Brie played numerous prominent roles in films, including Rebecca Walters, Sidney Prescott's secretary, in Scream 4 (2011) and Suzie Barnes in The Five-Year Engagement (2012), a romantic comedy. She provided the voice of Princess Unikitty in the animated comedy The Lego Movie from 2014 as well as a character in an episode of American Dad! from the show's eighth season.
Brie joined the cast of the August 22 premiere of the Netflix sitcom BoJack Horseman in June 2014. Since then, she has provided the voices for a number of characters, including Diane Nguyen, the main heroine, and Vincent Adultman, a recurring character. With performances of "Shoop" by Salt-N-Pepa and "Bang Bang" by Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj, Brie competed on Lip Sync Battle and defeated Will Arnett. She co-starred alongside Jason Sudeikis in Leslye Headland's romance comedy Sleeping with Other People in 2015, and she also portrayed the fiancée of Will Ferrell's character in the comedy Get Hard. In 2016, Brie portrayed Martha Dunstable in Julian Fellowes' television adaptation of Anthony Trollope's Dr. Thorne and played Lucy in the romantic comedy How to Be Single.
She co-starred in a number of films in 2017, including The Little Hours, a historical comedy, The Disaster Artist, a biographical comedy, and The Post, a historical drama. In the Netflix comedy-drama series GLOW, which was modelled after the 1980s female professional wrestling promotion Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, Brie played the role of Ruth Wilder from 2017 to 2019. Brie stated that she has become more focused on pursuing meaningful parts since playing in GLOW and garnering positive reviews for the role. She received numerous nominations for her work in the comedy series category for the Critics' Choice Television Award, the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series, and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Television Series Musical or Comedy.
She co-starred in Beck's "Colours" music video in 2018. In the 2019 animated comedy sequel The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, she voiced Princess Unikitty once more. She also performed an English dub for the Japanese animated romance fantasy film Weathering with You.
Brie featured in Emerald Fennell's critically acclaimed drama-thriller Promising Young Woman in 2020. She also wrote, produced, and played Sarah in the Jeff Baena-directed drama film Horse Girl for Netflix that same year. Then, Brie played alongside Dan Stevens in her husband Dave Franco's horror movie The Rental. In Clea DuVall's romance comedy Happyest Season, Brie portrayed Sloane. She voiced a famous guest character in the fifth season of the animated sitcom Rick and Morty in 2021.
Together with her frequent partner and filmmaker Jeff Baena, Alison Brie co-wrote the dark comedy movie Spin Me Round, which was released in 2022. IFC Films released the movie in a few venues, and it is also available to view on AMC+. In 2022, Alison Brie also appeared in the episode "The Woman Who Solved Her Own Murder" of the Apple TV+ anthology TV show ROAR. The series is based on Cecelia Ahern's novel of the same name.
Additionally, it was revealed in 2022 that Brie would play Annie once more in a Community movie.
Together with her husband Dave Franco, who also contributed to the writing and directing of the romantic comedy Somebody I Used to Know, Brie co-wrote and starred in the movie in 2023. On February 10th, it was made available on Amazon Prime Video, where it quickly shot to the top of the list both domestically and internationally. In the 2023 television programme Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur on the Disney Channel, Alison Brie also provided the voice of the character Aftershock.
In February 2023, it was made public that Alison Brie had been chosen to star with Jake Lacy, Annette Bening, and Sam Neill in Peacock's limited TV series adaption of the Liane Moriarty book Apples Never Fall.
After meeting Dave Franco at a New Orleans Mardi Gras party in 2011, Brie started seeing him in 2012. It was reported that the two were engaged on August 25, 2015. On March 13, 2017, they got hitched. She stated that she did not wish to have children during an interview with Larry King in 2017.
