Actress Alexandra Anna Daddario was born in the United States on March 16, 1986. She achieved stardom by playing Annabeth Chase in the 2010–2013 Percy Jackson film series. Since then, she has played a variety of characters, including Paige in Hall Pass (2011), Heather Miller in Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013), Blake Gaines in San Andreas (2015), Summer Quinn in Baywatch (2017), and Alexis Butler in We Summon the Darkness (2019). In addition, she has appeared in a number of TV shows as a guest star, including White Collar, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, True Detective, New Girl, and American Horror Story: Hotel. She starred in the HBO series The White Lotus' first season in 2021, for which she garnered a lot of praise from critics and was nominated for an Emmy in 2022 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. She started portraying Dr. Rowan Fielding in the AMC series Mayfair Witches, which is based on a number of novels penned by author Anne Rice, in 2023.
The oldest child of Christina, a lawyer, and Richard Daddario, a prosecutor and former chief of the New York City Police Department counterterrorism section, Alexandra Anna Daddario was born in New York City on March 16, 1986. Her ancestors are Italian, Irish, English, and Hungarian. She has a younger sister who is also an actress and a younger brother named Matthew Daddario. Emilio Q. Daddario was her paternal grandpa who served as a Democratic representative for Connecticut in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1959 to 1971.
Daddario grew up on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She went to the Professional Children's School and Brearley School. At the age of 11, according to Daddario, she decided to become an actress. I've always loved telling stories," she said in 2019. "I could have done anything, really; it was simply something I sincerely wanted to accomplish. I did had every chance in the world. Prior to leaving Marymount Manhattan College to focus only on acting, she was a student there. She has spent years learning the Meisner acting method.
Career
As an actor, 2010–2015: Early achievement and acclaim
At the age of 15, Daddario made her television debut in the ABC daytime serial series All My Children as Laurie Lewis, a victim. In the fantasy adventure movie Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010), she played Annabeth Chase in her first significant role. She also played the love interest of Neal Caffrey in the USA Network procedural drama series White Collar, Kate Moreau. She starred in the comedy movie Hall Pass and as Rachel in NBC's comedy-drama series Parenthood in 2011.
Daddario appeared in the Imagine Dragons song "Radioactive" music video in 2012, which has over 1 billion views on YouTube. She played Ruby Taft in an episode of the FX comedy It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, where she also made a cameo appearance. After Percy Jackson, she played Heather Miller, the main character, in the 2013 slasher movie Texas Chainsaw 3D, which was her first leading role. In the August 2013 release of the Percy Jackson sequel, Sea of Monsters, Daddario returned as Annabeth Chase. Later, she made an appearance in Burying the Ex, a romantic horror comedy. In 2014, Burying the Ex made its world premiere outside of competition at the Venice Film Festival.
Daddario was given a role in the HBO anthology series True Detective's first season in January 2013. She played Lisa Tragnetti, a court reporter having an adulterous relationship with one of the major protagonists, in a four-episode arc. Her naked portions in the show garnered a lot of attention. She starred as Blake Gaines in the catastrophe movie San Andreas the next year and made a brief appearance in the Fox comedy series The Last Man on Earth's pilot episode. She appeared as a special guest on American Horror Story: Hotel the same year, as a fictitious Natacha Rambova, a fashion designer.
2016-2020: Groundbreaking
Ross Katz's 2016 romantic drama film The Choice starring Nicholas Sparks featured Daddario in a supporting role. Daddario then played one of the main characters in the 2017 Baywatch movie. She played Summer Quinn, a character Nicole Eggert played in the first season of the show. Daddario played Kate Jeffries in William H. Macy's 2017 comedy about a road trip called The Layover.
In addition to playing Avery Martin opposite the film's co-writer Adam DeVine in the romantic comedy When We First Met, Daddario had an appearance in the Maroon 5 music video for "Wait" in 2018. Brad Peyton's Rampage featured Daddario in a cameo as a scuba diver, but her parts weren't included in the finished product. We Have Always Lived in the Castle, a movie based on Shirley Jackson's mystery-thriller book of the same name, starring Daddario as Constance Blackwood.[31] In addition, Daddario starred in the psychological suspense film Night Hunter, which had its world premiere on September 28 at the LA Film Festival. Daddario starred in and produced two movies in 2019: Marc Meyers' horror thriller We Summon the Darkness and the romantic comedy Can You Keep a Secret?, which is based on Sophie Kinsella's book of the same name.
In 2020, Daddario acted in the noir thriller Lost Girls & Love Hotels and performed the voice of Lois Lane in the superhero animation feature Superman: Man of Tomorrow. In Songbird, the first movie made in Los Angeles during the COVID-19 outbreak, she also had an appearance.
2021–present: The White Lotus and general acceptance
She made an appearance in the movies Die in a Gunfight and the HBO social satire series The White Lotus in 2021. Along with the rest of the ensemble, she got considerable praise for her performance in the former, with The Hollywood Reporter stating that it "should redefine how audiences and casting directors see her." For Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie in 2022, she received a Primetime Emmy nomination.
The 2022 coming-of-age movie Wildflower stars Daddario. She appeared in the AMC television series Mayfair Witches, which premiered in 2023 and was adapted from the Lives of the Mayfair Witches book series by Anne Rice.
Private life
She has been in a relationship with producer Andrew Form since around 2020. Their engagement was announced on December 2, 2021. They exchanged vows in June 2022.
