Childhood and Education

The oldest child of Christina, a lawyer, and Richard Daddario, a prosecutor and former chief of the New York City Police Department counterterrorism section, Alexandra Anna Daddario was born in New York City on March 16, 1986. Her ancestors are Italian, Irish, English, and Hungarian.  She has a younger sister who is also an actress and a younger brother named Matthew Daddario.  Emilio Q. Daddario grew up on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She went to the Professional Children's School and Brearley School. At the age of 11, according to Daddario, she decided to become an actress. I've always loved telling stories," she said in 2019. "I could have done anything, really; it was simply something I sincerely wanted to accomplish. I did had every chance in the world. Prior to leaving Marymount Manhattan College to focus only on acting, she was a student there. She has spent years learning the Meisner acting method.

Career

As an actor, 2010–2015: Early achievement and acclaim

At the age of 15, Daddario made her television debut in the ABC daytime serial series All My Children as Laurie Lewis, a victim. In the fantasy adventure movie Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010), she played Annabeth Chase in her first significant role. She also played the love interest of Neal Caffrey in the USA Network procedural drama series White Collar, Kate Moreau. She starred in the comedy movie Hall Pass and as Rachel in NBC's comedy-drama series Parenthood in 2011.

She played Ruby Taft in an episode of the FX comedy It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, where she also made a cameo appearance. After Percy Jackson, she played Heather Miller, the main character, in the 2013 slasher movie Texas Chainsaw 3D, which was her first leading role. In the August 2013 release of the Percy Jackson sequel, Sea of Monsters, Daddario returned as Annabeth Chase. Later, she made an appearance in Burying the Ex, a romantic horror comedy. In 2014, Burying the Ex made its world premiere outside of competition at the Venice Film Festival.

Daddario was given a role in the HBO anthology series True Detective's first season in January 2013. She played Lisa Tragnetti, a court reporter having an adulterous relationship with one of the major protagonists, in a four-episode arc. Her naked portions in the show garnered a lot of attention. She starred as Blake Gaines in the catastrophe movie San Andreas the next year and made a brief appearance in the Fox comedy series The Last Man on Earth's pilot episode. She appeared as a special guest on American Horror Story: Hotel the same year, as a fictitious Natacha Rambova, a fashion designer.

2016-2020: Groundbreaking

Ross Katz's 2016 romantic drama film The Choice starring Nicholas Sparks featured Daddario in a supporting role. Daddario then played one of the main characters in the 2017 Baywatch movie. She played Summer Quinn, a character Nicole Eggert played in the first season of the show. Daddario played Kate Jeffries in William H. Macy's 2017 comedy about a road trip called The Layover.

In addition to playing Avery Martin opposite the film's co-writer Adam DeVine in the romantic comedy When We First Met, Daddario had an appearance in the Maroon 5 music video for "Wait" in 2018. Brad Peyton's Rampage featured Daddario in a cameo as a scuba diver, but her parts weren't included in the finished product. We Have Always Lived in the Castle, a movie based on Shirley Jackson's mystery-thriller book of the same name, starring Daddario as Constance Blackwood.[31] In addition, Daddario starred in the psychological suspense film Night Hunter, which had its world premiere on September 28 at the LA Film Festival. Daddario starred in and produced two movies in 2019: Marc Meyers' horror thriller We Summon the Darkness and the romantic comedy Can You Keep a Secret?, which is based on Sophie Kinsella's book of the same name.

In 2020, Daddario acted in the noir thriller Lost Girls & Love Hotels and performed the voice of Lois Lane in the superhero animation feature Superman: Man of Tomorrow. In Songbird, the first movie made in Los Angeles during the COVID-19 outbreak, she also had an appearance.

She made an appearance in the movies Die in a Gunfight and the HBO social satire series The White Lotus in 2021. Along with the rest of the ensemble, she got considerable praise for her performance in the former, with The Hollywood Reporter stating that it "should redefine how audiences and casting directors see her."
