The 68th National Film Awards, regarded as the nation's most prestigious honours, were presented on Friday at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi (September 30, 2022). Both Tamil actor Suriya and Bollywood star Ajay Devgn were present at the ceremony to accept the President of India Droupadi Murmu's Best Actor Award.
Suriya was pleased with himself for his performance in Soorarai Pottru, while Ajay Devgn was pleased with his win for his 2020 movie Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. Later, Ajay shared a photo of himself and the other National Award recipient on his Twitter account.
He added the comment, "It was wonderful to spend time with @Suriya offl, my great colleague and fellow best actor award winner. I greatly admire his talent and enjoy his films." Quickly, Ajay and Suriya's photo on social media went viral.
Ajay Devgn has now won Best Actor three times. Previously, the Singham actor took up the award for Zakhm and The Legend Of Bhagat Singh. Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, starring Ajay Devgn, also won the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment Award.
Veteran actress Asha Parekh received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award during the award ceremony. Her films include Teesri Manzil, Caravan, Kati Patang, and many others. She is regarded as one of the legendary leading ladies in Indian cinema. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic epidemic, which had stopped everything in the previous two years, the National Awards are running a year behind schedule.
Returning to Ajay Devgn, the Bollywood star will next be seen in Sidharth Malhotra, Rakul Preet Singh, and Indra Kumar's forthcoming family comedy Thank God.
