According to Jennifer Lawrence, her close friend Adele had cautioned her against appearing in the science fiction movie Passengers, and she now regrets not listening to her.
In the 2016 movie, which was lambasted at the time and was directed by Morten Tyldum of The Imitation Game, the 32-year-old actress played Aurora Lane opposite Chris Pratt.
The movie depicts the tale of two passengers who are awakened from their induced sleep 90 years too early while travelling in an interplanetary spacecraft bringing thousands of people to a colony 60 light years from Earth.
Since then, Lawrence has claimed that she made the incorrect decision to appear in the movie and that she felt she had betrayed the fan base she had established by appearing in The Hunger Games movies.
"Oh no, you people are here because I'm here, and I'm here because you guys are here," I exclaimed. Who determined this was a decent movie, I wonder? To The New York Times, she spoke.
She continued by claiming that music star Adele had advised her against doing the movie and called them "the new vampire movies."
She scowled, "I should have listened to her.
The two ladies are close friends, and Adele, 34, recently told Rolling Stone that Lawrence, along with a select group of other famous acquaintances, helped to "humanise" her after she moved into a Beverly Hills home close to the actor.
Passengers was a professional move that Lawrence has previously referred to as being poorly timed, and in 2019 she withdrew from the spotlight and stopped performing.
Passengers has 290 reviews and a 30% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. According to the critics, the movie reveals that Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence get along well together but that even their chemistry can't save the film from its fatally flawed plot.
Based on 48 reviews, the movie's weighted average rating on Metacritic is 41 out of 100.
Nevertheless, it received nominations for best production design and best original soundtrack at the 89th Academy Awards.

She is slated to play a soldier who is having a hard time adjusting to life after returning to New Orleans in the upcoming film Causeway, which is being directed by Lila Neugebauer.
