During her recent visit to the UK, Duchess Meghan reportedly asked Princess Kate if she would like to participate in the podcast. (Recall that the Sussexes and Waleses shared a residence and frequently appeared in public together.)
The details are as follows: According to a source cited by royal authority Neil Sean, Meghan "put out a plea to the Princess of Wales" to appear on a future episode of Archetypes while she was a guest at Frogmore Cottage. Kate reportedly accepted Meghan's offer to have "the whole episode to herself."
In Meghan's opinion, Sean said, "This is because she based it around the idea of two Duchesses, as they then were, and of course talking about how tough it is to maintain a family, work-life [and] balance."
Sean noted that Meghan and the Spotify team have "yet to hear back," but there is speculation that "maybe Catherine could even fit it in when she returns over to the United States later this month for Earthshot." Meghan reportedly felt that she and Kate were "progressing" in their relationship at the time of the offer.
The prospect of Meghan and Kate recording a podcast episode together sounds incredible but also a little bit unbelievable, especially given that the royal family is rumoured to be in a full-blown panic over Prince Harry's upcoming memoir, Spare, which is set to be released on January 10. Additionally, William and Harry "have rarely spoken" since the news of Spare surfaced, according to a recent article in The Sun, but hey! Meghan and Kate can still get along even when William and Harry aren't talking, you know?
