Abigail Spencer Wiki, Age, Biography, Height, Husband, Family And More

American actress Abigail Leigh Spencer was born on August 4, 1981. Prior to appearing as Angela's Eyes in the Lifetime criminal thriller series, Angela's Eyes (2006), she began her acting career as Rebecca Tyree on the ABC daytime television serial opera All My Children (1999–2001). She also appeared in repeat episodes of Grey's Anatomy (2017–2022), Hawthorne (2009–2011), Suits (2011–2019), and Mad Men (2009–2009). Spencer portrayed Amantha Holden in the SundanceTV drama series Rectify from 2013 to 2016, for which she was nominated for a Critics' Choice Television Award. Spencer played Lucy Preston, a history professor, in the NBC science fiction series Timeless from 2016 to 2018. In My Sleep (2010), Cowboys & Aliens (2011), This Means War (2012), Chasing Mavericks (2012), The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia (2013), Oz the Great and Powerful (2013), and This Is Where I Leave You (2014) are just a few of the movies in which Spencer has appeared.

Early life

Spencer was reared in Gulf Breeze, Santa Rosa County, Florida. She is the daughter of surfer Yancy Spencer III (1950–2011) and Lydia Ann Brown. Sterling Spencer and Yancy Spencer IV, both born about 1986, are her two brothers. According to Spencer, she is partially Cherokee.

Career

From June 3, 1999, through April 10, 2001, Spencer portrayed Rebecca "Becca" Tyree in the ABC soap opera All My Children. She later appeared in the cancelled December 1, 2006, Lifetime Television original series Angela's Eyes. She started appearing in guest appearances on numerous TV shows in the years that followed, including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, How I Met Your Mother, Private Practice, and Castle.
In 2009, Spencer appeared in Twix commercials as a blogger and played Miss Farrell, Don Draper's love interest, on AMC's Mad Men. She was cast as the female protagonist in Krista Vernoff's ABC drama Grace early in 2011. In 2005's Introducing Lennie Rose, a Krista Vernoff drama pilot, Spencer previously portrayed the lead role. In 2010, Spencer made an appearance in a recurring role as Dr. Erin Jameson on the TNT drama Hawthorne. Since 2011, Spencer has also starred in recurrent roles on the USA Network legal drama Suits as Dana "Scottie" Scott, a former competitor of Gabriel Macht's character.

Spencer has acted in a number of movies, including The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia (2013), Cowboys & Aliens (2011), This Means War (2012), and Chasing Mavericks (2012). She also played the major part in In My Sleep (2010). She had an appearance in Sam Raimi's 2013 fantasy adventure film Oz the Great and Powerful.

Spencer won praise from critics for his performance as Amantha Holden in the Rectify (2013–2017) Sundance Channel original drama series. For her work in the show, she received nominations for the Satellite Award for Best Actress - Television Series Drama and the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

The independent drama A Beautiful Now, written by Daniela Amavia, starred Spencer in the lead role of a passionate dancer who finds herself considering a drastic action as she comes to a crossroads in her life. For her work in the movie, she received a nomination for Best Actress at the Madrid International Film Festival. Spencer played alongside Jason Bateman in Shawn Levy's ensemble comedy-drama This Is Where I Leave You in 2014, as well as John Travolta and Christopher Plummer in The Forger, a crime thriller.

Spencer joined the cast of True Detective, an HBO criminal drama series, in October 2014.

Lucy Preston, the main character in the NBC television series Timeless, is played by Spencer. She is a history professor who is sent on missions to various eras in an order to stop others from interfering with the timestream that is tied to the United States. Spencer was described as "prodigiously talented" and "a character whose main personality traits are smart" in a Variety series review. According to a review by Deadline Hollywood, Spencer's abilities were wasted on the program. According to the New York Times, "Abigail Spencer is good as Lucy, the show's spunky historian main character." NBC extended Timeless' contract on May 12, 2017. Days before, the network had cancelled the show, but they have since changed their mind. After two seasons, the show came to an end.

The production business of Spencer and Duke Johnson, Innerlight Films, has created acclaimed short films like Here and Now and the 2015 Oscar nominee Winter Light. The upcoming movie The Actor, starring André Holland and Gemma Chan and based on Donald E. Westlake's novel Memory, was also produced by the business. Personal life In 2004, Spencer wed Andrew Pruett, and in 2008, their son Roman Pruett was born. They separated in 2013, having filed for divorce in February 2012.

Actress Meghan Markle and Spencer originally met at a casting call, and they later joined Suits as co-stars. She made a contribution to The Tig, Markle's previous blog. She attended Markle's baby shower in February 2019 as well as her wedding to Prince Harry on May 19, 2018, in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
