Former James Bond actor Timothy Dalton will join 1923, the Yellowstone prequel series. He will play a deadly British spy and a strong Montanan during the Great Depression.
The character of Donald Whitfield, played by Dalton, is described as a strong, self-assured man who exudes riches and lacks empathy. According to Variety, Whitfield is threatening, unscrupulous, and accustomed to getting his way.
Timothy Dalton is perhaps best known for playing agent 007 in the films The Living Daylights (1987) and License to Kill (1989).
Prequel to the Yellowstone television series on Paramount, 1923. The Spanish Flu, drought, Prohibition, and the Great Depression are some of the subjects it will cover while focusing on a previously unnoticed generation of the Dutton family.
Dalton will appear in the series alongside other well-known actors Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.
If you haven't heard, Yellowstone is a contemporary Western series that centres on the Dutton family, proprietors of one of the biggest ranches in the country. They are continually up against opponents who want to strip them of the ground they stand on.
Not only does 1883 follow an even earlier generation of the Dutton family and examine how the family first came to hold the land, but 1923 also follows a different generation of the Dutton family.
While the next story following the Dutton family, 1923, is scheduled to launch in December 2022 on Paramount Plus, 1883 and Yellowstone are presently accessible to stream on Paramount Plus and Peacock, respectively.
