Nazriya Nazim (born December 20, 1994) is an Indian actress, producer, and former television presenter who works primarily in Malayalam and Tamil films. She is the recipient of one Filmfare Award South, one Kerala State Film Award, and one Tamil Nadu State Film Award.**

She began her career as an anchor on the Malayalam television channel Asianet before becoming an actress. Palunku (2006) was her first film as a child artist, and Maad Dad (2013) was her first as a lead actress. She has since starred in films such as Neram (2013), Raja Rani (2013), Ohm Shanthi Oshaana (2014), and Bangalore Days (2014).
She took a break from acting after marrying actor Fahadh Faasil. In 2018, she made a comeback with Anjali Menon^/s film Koode.

Background and early life****

**Nazimuddeen and Begum Beena gave birth to Nazriya. Naveen Nazim is her brother. Her family lived in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, before relocating to Thiruvananthapuram.**She attended Our Own English High School in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, as well as Christ Nagar School in Thiruvananthapuram and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Trivandrum. She enrolled at Mar Ivanios College in Thiruvananthapuram in 2013, but reportedly dropped out due to her demanding shooting schedule.

A career in film****

**Nazriya began her career as an anchor in a Muslim-oriented television quiz show called Punyamaasathiloode on Kairali TV in 2005, followed by various other anchoring roles.**

She then began her acting career as a child artist in the Malayalam film Palunku (2006), directed by Blessy, in which she played Mammootty^/s character^/s daughter. She later became an anchor on Asianet^/s popular music reality show Munch Star Singer. Her next film was Oru Naal Varum (2010), in which she played Dhanya, the daughter of Sreenivasan^/s character. She was cast in Sony Music Entertainment^/s Yuvvh album, alongside Nivin Pauly, which became very popular among the youth.

Nazriya got her first female lead role in the Malayalam film Maad Dad (2013). She worked again with the Yuvvh team—director Alphonse Putharen and actor Nivin Pauly—for the romantic comedy thriller film Neram, which was shot in both Tamil and Malayalam. The film was a huge success, and both critics and audiences praised the lead couple; the scene in which Nivin proposes to Nazriya became a cult classic among moviegoers. She won the Vijay Award for Best Debut Actress for her performance in Neram. She was then seen in Raja Rani as Keerthana, an IT professional. "The one person who caught my attention was Nazriya Nazim, who as Arya^/s lover Keerthana, is absolutely gorgeous with a face that is so expressive that we do not need her to speak," wrote Hindustan Times^/ Gautaman Bhaskaran. Her next film, Naiyaandi, starred her as a dentist.

In 2014, she made her film debut in Salalah Mobiles, which flopped despite a strong cast that included Dulquer Salmaan. She recently finished filming Thirumanam Enum Nikkah in Tamil, in which she plays a Tamil Iyengar girl. She then appeared in Malayalam in Ohm Shanthi Oshaana, co-starring with Nivin Pauly. The film was a huge success and a box office smash, lasting 50 days in almost every theatre.

Bangalore Days and Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram in Malayalam, Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah and Vaayai Moodi Pesavum in Tamil were her next films. In October 2013, Nazriya was cast in Nee Nalla Varuvada. However, Kajal Aggarwal was signed in March 2014 to replace Nazriya. In the 45th Kerala State Film Awards, she was named best actress.

After taking a break from films following her marriage to Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya made a comeback with the Prithviraj-starrer, Anjali Menon film, Koode. After a year off, she appeared in the film Trance with her husband in 2020. In 2022, she made her Telugu debut alongside Nani in the film Ante Sundaraniki.

Private life****

**Fahadh Faasil, a Malayalam film actor, announced to the media in January 2014 that he was planning to marry Nazriya. On the sets of Anjali Menon^/s Bangalore Days (2014), where they played husband and wife, the couple got to know each other better. Fahadh and Nazriya revealed that their parents were instrumental in arranging the wedding. The couple got engaged in February 2014 and married on August 21, 2014 in Thiruvananthapuram.
